Just a query if anyone has used the battleships that were released for the Orks?

I still haven't got around to buying myself one (I really should get it) and so haven't any experiance yet.

I cant wait though,  I am currently reworking my Ork fleet.  Attempting to convert ships etc etc.

Shadow-Hunter,

I did try using one of the new Ork Battleships (using a proxy since I didn't have the lead) during the BFG campaign that was disasterous for my small Ork fleet.

I thought that they were utter drek, just more of the same old stuff that is doomed to Epic-40k style mad rushes to attempt to enter CC.

Sure, they're tougher than other ships, but the cost curve isn't good.

Of course, I only tried it out once and I'm sure that there must be some use for them. After all, GW would never cheat the Orks? Like giving them a skimpy new Codex? Right?

Shalom,
Maksim-Smelchak.

Personally I would convert my own if I was planning to start an Ork fleet in BFG-
I don't like the new models all that much, as they seem rather below the great standard Fanatic's BFG models have been at, with the new Voss ships, (which I now love the look of), etc..... :)

StormSeer,

I'm not a huge BFG fan.

What are the new Voss ships?

Shalom,
Maksim-Smelchak.

Voss ships are the new ones released for Armageddon with the different prow design- The Apocalypse & Oberon BBs, Falchion escorts and the unreleased light cruiser- the Endeavour....

They are built on or around the Voss Forgeword, thus the name.... :)
A link: Falchions...
Something else cool I saw when finding that; Liber Chaotica: Slaanesh special edition -rather cool looking, I think you'll agree.... :D

That Falchion is a great looking ship.

Are the rules for those ships going to be in this new co-allation of past articles I've heard about?  I hope so, I dont want to try and find and buy a load of old BFG mags.

I am going to reserve my oppinion on the Ork B.ships, until I've seen one in my hand painted.  I have always changed oppinions once I've painted models.  And I have a feeling I will like it once it was completed.  I must admit I dont 'hate' it now.

Yeah, I think its BFG: Armada you are thinking of, and I would say that they will be in it, as it'll contain rules for all the ships with models currently available...

Good.  Its far too annoying having to lumber around 5 or so different mags etc to be able to game.

It would be a very good idea to have all of the rules consolidated in one volume.

When we had our BFG campaign, I xeroxed all of the Ork rules and put them in a 3-ring binder to have them all in one spot. I made "Da Ork Battul Bible."

I plan to do the same with my Necrons if we get another campaign going.

Shalom,
Maksim-Smelchak.
