Hello everyone,

It is that time again and preparations for GothiComp 2009, the Battlefleet Gothic Painting Competition, hosted by Tactical Wargames.Net has begun.

Just like last year the competition will start at the 1st of May 2009.

I assume that people are still interested in this running?

There will be a different setup in respect to the submissions this year. This is being discussed behind the scenes but it will make for a better competition. At least that is what we hope to do.

Prizes
Do people have suggestions or donations (or know people/stores who arw willing to donate) for prizes to be won? We need at least two:

* Painting Contest Winner
* Conversion Prize Winner

And if we manage a third donation I'd like to introduce the:
* Fleet Category

And yes, I will organize this years competition alongside Cybershadow with additional inspiration and help from the Competition Team.  :)

Looking forward to another successful year of GothiComp!

Just for once I managed to start work on a model BEFORE the first announcement - ok, I beat it by just 3 days, still... :)

Awesome.

I'll put my scratchbuilding hat on and see if I can't come up with something a bit special for this!  :p

Excellent!

I have just the fleets! And time to finish few scratchbuild-thingies...

Can I use same ship in single category and part of flee?

Nicodemus. That seems acceptable. Keep in mind that the fleet competition is the last one to take form. No prize, no competition.

Or would 'honour' be enough?

Honour is definitely enough.

I would love to see a fleet competition.

I have everything sitting ready to build and paint my latest fleet on my hobby desk.  It should have been done by now but a series of disruptions has put a hold on all my painting projects for the last month or so.

Tip of the day: do not photoshop your vessel. Somehow the winners of the GothiComp painting competition are just plain photos without any kind of photoshopping.

Hi,

on the fleet category (on which I had a couple of positive replies on the 'honour' prize):

It needs restrictions and I was thinking 1500pts max. Applying all fleet rules.

Quick and easy.

Though 1000pts may see more entries.

What do you think?

1k is a bit smallish but makes for better pics but 1.5k allows for more fun toys.
