Hi there!

Didn't know where to place this, so I decided on this forum a little bit by chance, really. feel free to move the topic around if needed :)


On Friday we had a 2 vs 2 battle. 775 points per player. The sides were as follows:

- Armageddon imperials: dictator, dominator and lunar plus a marine SC (I know the dominator is illegal)
- Crusader marines: 3 SC and 2 hunter squadrons (yes, illegal list as well, i know)

- Chaos: acheron, 2 murders & 1 devie with khorne marines
- orks 2 terror ships, 4 ramships, 3 roks. There was a warboss with boarding parties in one of the terror ships

The battle (escenario 10) started with a disastrous shpoting turn from the chaos-ork side: I think we killed 1 escort after all the rerolls from lock on et al. :( After that the retaliatory fire from the imperial side saw a NC shot scoring 5 damage points in a murder (OUCH!) almost crippling it. A torpedo salvo that followed it achieved that result leaving the cruiser with 2 damage points. I had to disengage the ship, and it had not even entered the battle properly!

The imperials were playing a refused flank strategy that left all our orks (except the rocks, advancing in the centre) in no mans land: they had only 3 hunters in front of them, that they proceeded to finish in 2 turns. Fortunately, being carriers the ork ships were able to still contribute to the fighting in the centre of the battlefield.

In the centre the 3 rocks were performing superbly, with a combined firepower of around 30-ish WB per turn. They proceeded to lock on and destroy the geddon fleet SC in a single turn of shooting O_o and continue afterwards turning the lunar into a wreck with the help of the devastation, that was playing in the centre of the board as well.

In the left flank, 2 ramships, the acheron and the second murder were playing with the marines. The escorts of both sides nullified each other for most of the game, so did not play a significant role there. The combined firepower of the 2 chaos cruisers in that flank and the devie in the centrewe (I love 60cm lances) managed to score.... 4 damage points on the marine cruisers throughout the game... being in lock on :( The imperials and marines concentrated their firepower in those 2 ships, managing to destory (barely) the murder in the end.

That allowed the orks to do well in the game, though and they were mostly untouched when we had to pack up again. In point sit would have been an imperial defeat, but by a small margin. If it had continued we are confident that the orks and the 2 untouched chaos cruisers could have beaten the marines, though, since the imperials were in a sad state (lunar with 21 remaining point, crippled dictator and destroyed SC) and being shot in the rear by the whole ork fleet and the devastation.
