Battle fleet Gothic: Conquest (Final Engagement) Warning, giberish that I am working on. This is an attempt to outline my ideas for a formatted PDF that would be aimed at providing the framework for a short (3-4 game) campaign between two players re-enacting the conquest of a single star system. Idealy it would provide room for tactics and fleet managment. 2-3games leading up to a final engagment. Game 1 (500pt Raid) Game 2 (500pt Raid) Game 3 (500pt Raid) Game 4 (1500pt Battle) It is assumed that the campaign is fought over a system with at least a space dock to aid in minor repairs and with a target worth defending. Constructing Your Fleet 1,500 pt attacking fleet 1,500 pt defending fleet 1 space station is recremended. 50-150 points of planetary defenses are recremended. 10-14 escorts are recremended. It is recremended to keep some escorts on hand. (Convoy) 1,500 pt guideline. 0-12 launch bays 0-2 battleships 2+ escort squadrons (recremended) 1 Turn is played for every 500 points in your fleet. Roll and keep leadership for the entire campaign. Strategy Phase Strategy works out into a sort of Rock-Paper-Scissors game between fleets. Conquest!- This fleet takes an active role in engaging the enemy. Ships aggressively seek opponents within the star system, and their intention is to cause as much destruction as possible. The attacking fleet will likely attempt to destroy system assets and eliminate isolated convoys. Raid!/Patrol!- This fleet will avoid large engagements and attempt to disrupt the opponents war economy and supply lines. Under the simple belief that the enemy cant be everywhere at once, captains await the opportunity to strike and cause mayhem. Hold the Line!-This fleet will concentrate on defending assets within the system. Squadrons will actively scout seeking signs of the enemy and convoys will be heavily protected. Captians defending a system are cautious and seek to destroy isolated attackers foolish enough to expose themselves. Conqust - Pushes aside raiders, stoped by a defense. Raid - Campaign Turn Strategy Phase Set Up Game Rally Rally Phase At the end of a major engagement it is likely that ships will attempt to rally themselves and enact repairs. In the Battle fleet Gothic Campaign System, it is assumed that weeks pass between large engagements. But due to the reduced scale of this campaign system such repairs are hard to come by in the field. Completing field repairs between battles is often hard. After the battle roll 1D6 for each remaining hit, on the roll of a 6 a single point is repaired. All criticals are repaired acept for Bridge Smashed and Shield Collapse. The effects of these criticals take many months to repair. Destroyed Cruisers are eliminated from the rouster, but destroyed escorts are returned to the rouster but with Ld. 6. (makes escorts awesome!) You may choose not to use a cruiser if it is too badly damaged. Cruisers may spend more than one game out repairing damage, and the process of field repairs is accelerated. Instead of requiring a 6 the repairs work on a 5. Alternative Rules for Personalities. Keep tabs on multiple personalities. |

You might want to read the Campaign Rules in Warp Rift 18. Though yours has a tad different approach it bears some similarities. |

I am well aware of the diffrences and similarities. This is a campaign system I once had written out years ago and it was used to great effect for years. I thought posting and writing it up might be productive. When I read warprift I almost laughed, the ideas where so similar. Although similar it plays with a very diffrent feel, It has a tendency to punish those who are reckless with their ships and reward stratigic play. The goal was to create a campaign system that took less effort than maintaing a D&D fighter. I though that I might take a few stabs at writing it out. Geting it written out will take some time, I am sorry for using your forum like this BH. |
