Have arrived into my grubby little hands. Here's what my Tau fleet looks like:
Tau Custodian x2 (Explorers)
Tau Emissarry x2 (Merchants)
Tau Protectors x6 (Heroes)
Tau Castellan Escorts x6 (Defenders)
Tau Warden Gunships x8 (Orcas)
Just need to find something suitable for Messengers. I'll probably end up proxying something from another line.

Whoa! That's really a lot. So you're gonna use them as stand-in for the SG models?
Make sure to post pics when painted!

I had a pair of Protectors and a Custodian from before but that's the total numbers I have above. I've been waiting for awhile to get them, and I got a chunk of cash from a guy I was painting for, and the order worked out to $198 Canadian. I figured no time like the present.
Yeah I'll be proxying them with the Armada fleet, though I'll probably try the FW fleet and the fan one just for kicks. I played the Armada list once and actually found it was the best for me after fiddling with Eldar, Imps & Chaos, and Necrons. We like to play bigger games, so I also have a B5 Centauri cruiser that I will be subbing in as a Demiurg ship on occasion.
Using the Armada rules that gives me 1860 points of ships to choose from plus 255/350 points if I toss in the Demiurg. 2 of the Protectors can't be used due to the ratio.
