The 4 special kroozers with names (Kroolboy, Gorbag'as revenge, slmblasta & Deathdeala) are supposed to be specially good hammer class ships. Actually I think the Slamblasta is one of the worst ships ever designed for BFG, and that any ork fleet of the same points can tear him appart, but that is not the point.
The point is that you got it right:
1) The battleships are very scarce, so scarce that they are recongnized by individual names. Very few ork vessels attain such status at all since they cannot grow/scavenge other ships enough to be built to such level of profficiency. There are other ork BBs out there for sure, but those 4 were the ones spotted in the armageddon war. Ork battleships are created by improving previous designs. I would say that all those battleships are simply hammers with extra armour and weaponry added to them, in the same way that hammers arwe mostly regular ork cruisers that got improvements themselves. Ork build techniques are based on stacking more and more stuff on top of the previous stuff, so there you go
2) Hammers are much more powerful than the regular ork designs of the kill & terror variants. Still, they are not powerful enough to come toe to toe with an imperial battleship, so they are rated in between. In that sense they are more similar to the imperial grand cruisers or battle cruisers than battleships. Still, they pack quite some punch and are one of my favourite ships out there. I think they are what you would call "ork essence": loads of all kinds of weaponry and stright for the enemy's head!!
I really like your designs. Extremely coll stuff!! Heep the good work up krooza
Regards,
Xavi

Doesn't look bad at all! Tell us how it goes.
With orks remember that you are basically an ork. That means that shooting things is really kewl, but you prefer to use a large piece of heavy metal to break your enemy skulls. On this issue, read "boarding actions and ramming since you auto-AAF", or even better, both

On the dreadnought thing, I love the idea and given your modelling skills I think it will look fantastic. Kudos to you. I would suggest using the hulk rules for it, even if you can design rules for it yourself as well. If you make it cost the same as a hulk (650-ish points IIRC) you can have a massive dreadnought already, with the advantage that if your opponent does not agree to play against your homebrew rules you simply say "ok, no prblem: it is a hulk" andyou can use it anyway!
Do you plan on building roks or a regular hulk as well? I would really like to see what you can model for those.
Health and sixes,
Xavi
