Does anyone know of companies which made a model which could be used for this?
What I'm after is something that looks like it's alive but could be in space, but not a 'Nid.
I was thinking more along the lines on something which lived in space and was one creature, kind of like a whale or shark but not. if you know what I mean

For some reason I couldn't help but think of these old Ghostbusters action figures I saw when I was a kid. Although somewhat big they do have some interesting shapes which might look like something that could be floating around in space. I would look for some kind of small ghost/monster toy. There must be something out there that might work.

Also go have a look through the RAFM Cthulhu line. Some odd shapes and looks mixed into that line as well.
Look at the Cthonian, Carnivourous Giant Worm or the Shoggoth, Protoplasmic Horror for example.
Good Luck!

One other idea that I just thought of is go look at Monday Night Productions. They have something in their 25mm Fantasy line called a Plasma Ball that if painted right could make a nice "Space Monster".
