I wasn't planning on joining the competition but blackhorizon's suggestion of compiling everything into a compendum tickled my interest.

I have maybe 3 ideas that I'd like to submit. 2 of them are fluff from 2 of the ships in my fleet which I need to expand to 2000 words and 1 that I'm still trying to develop and I'd really like a ship to go along with it. The basic principle is there for the 3rd one, just that my creativity is rock bottom right now. Hope I can finish them all by the deadline.  :/

Nah, really the more entries the better. And when I finished the current one and are 100% satified I will have a go at a second one. This is a story brewing in the back of my mind. A tad different.

How are people getting on with this? I ordered my vessel from GW at the beginning of the week and I am now slowly putting together the background and details of it.

It took me a while to consider exactly what I was going to do (race, class, etc). I am not sure that I will have a story as such, just some background and details about the vessel.

Around five weeks left to deadline! I really dont expect to place anywhere, but it is interesting to do something totally different from the usual fleets.

(And if they ask what race I want 2000 points of, the answer is easy - Kroot!)

Would you believe it, just see this now :) I've got two things fully written up and documented I meant to submit to fanatic over 2 years ago now - one a new class of frigate based on the old spacefleet constellation targeting ship body, the other a styx with a nifty and very simple bridge upgrade. And where are the ships, the files and so on? In the UK :)

But that doesn't matter since the chances of being the winner are almost zero...

So basically you buy the total GW stock of 1 model? :laugh:

I'm going for the CWE/CE. For the CWE I need more on top of what I already have and for the CE I need another model to make my fleet more variable.
Now if the Mars Fleet was available....

The idea of winning 2000pts of Kroot is simply astoundingly brilliant! A nice way to ruin Games Workshop though :p

Perhaps a Demiurg fleet, just get a ton of Buttresses(Xenos Vessels), and Ramparts(Defence Monitors, ?6 a pop!).  

Ordering my ship tomorrow...

Ok, I've decided to take a shot at this. And since the last post I dug up a ship, converted it, found a name, wrote the rules, wrote the construction bit, and took some pics. And decided the general idea of the fluff. Not bad, eh? ?:p
Now it'll take me the rest of forever to write the fluff and paint the ship.... ?:down:

Oh - and I'd go for Tau, or Necrons, or Demiurg, or Dark Eldar - with the latter as favourites, currently.

Demiurg? I'm not sure whether Forgeworld models would be part of the prize.

Well, at least two people here have bought models for the competition. I think that Specialist Games will more than make their money back from handing out the prize. Good news for further competitions, not to mention raising the profile of BFG.
