Hello all, First post in this forum and I wanted to know if anyone has converted any Grey Knights for epic, in particular how to model their nemisis weapons and storm bolters. I had a go at painting some up but couldn't come up with viable weapons. ![]() |

We just decided to paint them up in a shade of dark steel with bronzen shoulder pads. Long pole arms might be too delicate for gaming. We also made an =][= stand with one Terminator, one SM Cdr w/cape, one IG standard bearer, one SM Cdr w/power fist & a Mk.6 SM. But you get the Idea, I might take off the Mk.6 and replace it with an IG gunner based on the new W/D. We got the idea from a very old CJ. I even have a Traitor =][= stand. We did this years ago, but like I said on another post, I'm a Living Ancestor ![]() |

IIRC, Tuffskull has some Grey Knight conversions on epic40k.com. You might want to check. If not, I know he has some khorne Termie Berzerkers carrying pole-arm sized axes. I'm sure the techniques could be adapted. |

I usually snag weapons and bits from other troops to convert my termies. You can grab an ax or sword or what ever will come close and modify them to fit. |

I've seen TS conversions, and i have done some of my own, storm shields and axes. I just needed some ideas to model the nemisis pole arms. Ive used a blue metal color to paint my Grey knights 'cause my SM army is painted chainmail, which is to close to gunmetal. Thanks for the help. |

Hi! Welcome centurion! I still use the old SM rules for them, so I have no conversions for later systems and besides painting them in odd bronze and golden colors I dont model them or convert them much beyond that. While I like the vehicle conversions people do, I have always thought infantry conversions are real hard, but thats just me, since I'm lazy in that regard. ![]() Primarch |

Hi, Grey knights are on my list to work on when I get back to a stage where I can work on epic scale stuff. Brass rod for the polearms with Banshee Swords for the lades is what I'm going for. For extra detail, I'm thinking possible a few sculpted purity seals etc but you could probably use the tops of either old Codex grey guard eagle bearers or the Librarian's staff as an equally good replacement. As I say, I intend to have a go at these as soon as I can.My IG army has always been led by a (rather dubious in his loyalty..) Inquisitor so the new Demonhunters are giving me plenty to think about in epanding his retinue ![]() |

I just painted my up as was shown in the manuals somewhere. I didnt convert them at all. However like Paul, I am also liking the new look of the Demonhunters. So I will have to start looking around to see if I can make them look better. Doug |

You know I haven't painted up any daemon hunters. I probably should. Just because I haven't encountered chaos doesn't mean I will never encounter them. |

Ooops, forgot to comment on Storm bolters. The best way I have found to make decent storm bolters is to use two bolt pistols from SM scouts. file each one down on opposite sides until the barrels touch when placed together. Glue them and there you go! Its a little fiddly but not too bad compared to many of the things that can be done when working in this scale! This technique was used on my SM terminator captain conversion as featured in This article on Epic40k.com (galleries/showcase/TuffSkull/terminator captain) |
