As some of you have heard, the fan-rewrite of Epic 40k/3rd edition is going very well, and I thought it would be a good idea to have an updates thread on the forum!

Epic 40k Compendium
In terms of making Epic 40k vastly more accessible, MeBrainBeDrained compiled all of the available Epic 40k rules, army lists, FAQs, missions etc. into a compendium website at https://thehobby.zone/resources/e40k-co ... t/Home.htm including a PDF version at https://thehobby.zone/resources/e40k-co ... cation.htm.

I then hacked around with Armyforge and made a detachment builder: https://ijw.on-rev.com/armyforge_temp/index_e40k.html

Epic Remastered
The next step is the complete rewrite at https://epicremastered.com/. The rules are almost completely done (a few bits still need minor tweaks), with the Armies Book and Battles Book content still to do.

A more sophisticated version of the Armyforge-based builder is also available, at https://ijw.on-rev.com/remastered/. At the moment this is the main source of army lists, but they will be added in static form to the main Remastered site at a future date.

The core five armies of the Imperium, Orks, Eldar, Chaos, and Tyranids have all had a points cost formula has been rigorously applied, after being reverse-engineered from GW's points costs. In many cases, the army lists have been expanded, but this is still in progress.

The Squat Army List from Firepower #1 has been expanded with an Engineer's Guild Biker detachment.
Necrons have been added as a full force (but Flyers are still to be added). This has had a number of playtest games and is working well. Credit to Toco who originally started a Necron list for 3ed edition, with some ideas from that list informing this one.
The Tau have been added this week, using GW's and Toco's lists as inspiration but expanding them and adding some new stuff.

What's Next?
I'm currently updating all War Engines using an updated points cost formula, and am planning to do updated data sheets in the next few months.
The Remastered site will slowly add the Armies Book and Battles Book content.
In terms of army lists, the Necron and Tau lists need some more work (and playtesting for the Tau). I also want to add more Legion-specific Chaos Space Marine detachments, equivalent to the Imperial ones for Blood Angels, Dark Angels, Space Wolves, and White Scars. Dark Eldar need to be updated and expanded from the incomplete GW version.

Note that most Remastered discussion is currently taking place on Facebook in the Epic Remastered group: https://www.facebook.com/groups/1952676958177757
