Just a quick post to my gaming blog regarding a quick game I played with a friend. Both my opponent and a friend watching seemed quite keen on continuing to play 3rd edition. Enjoy. I'm sure there will be more. |

Good looking armies! You lucked out and the Tyranid player charged his titans up the middle on a field with almost no cover. Death rays, especially the beast on the Imperator as you've probably already figured out, will obliterate anything the Tyranids can put up against them without enough cover. Otherwise, the Hierophant with close combat weapon and tentacles is almost a 1:1 match with the Imperator in close combat and he still could have gotten closer with a little luck (all your landraiders missing) and using the Hierophant as a sacrifice. Get some trees! Also, school him on the use of mycetic swarms. If he didn't have them then he went to war with his hand tied behind his back. |

Yeah, for my friends they're discovering this version of Epic for the first time—they both cut their teeth on Armageddon—and for me it's rediscovering it after almost 15 years. I'm sure the tables will turn around game three or four. And yes, I'm sourcing some trees. Back in the '90s GW had some sweet tiny trees that I bought loads of, but they appear to be lost in time (something that almost never happens with my gaming collection). |

Sweet, nice to see an Imperator in action! By the way, could someone tell me what happens when an orc warlord is given the upgrade gargant? the gargant gains the hero special rule? |
