I've forgotten the correct rule and cannot find the Q&A about modifiers.

If an infantry would have Assault and Hero abilities, which will be applied first?

Assault = Assault value +1.
Hero = Double Assault value.

Consider an Eldar Guardian unit with Assault and Hero.
What is the correct answer? (a/b):
a) 1 +1 x2 = 4
b) (1 x2) +1 = 3

I think this was mentioned in a FAQ, but I can't remember. I am 99% sure it was add the +1 then multiply, and its how I have always done it. I guess its like saying, the Hero joined the Assault team, as opposed to the hero joining the team which then became assault.

I have read the opposite in a White Dwarf...
