Hi all!!

I recently got all the models for my imperial army, wich are made up off some guard units (artillery :p ) and space marines of the marauders chapter (a successor chapter of the white scars)

Now i have 3 detachments of marines in rhinos and a big bike detachment, but also a terminator detachment in raiders togheter with a 1st company detachment of regular marines in raiders.

Now as i made the 1st company marines stand out from the rest of the marines using the older beaky marines, i have been thinking of making them stand out in the way they play too.

As they are suppossed to be successors of a "hit hard and fast" chapter, i was thinking of giving them the assault rule. Easiest way is to give them the jump pack upgrade from the army list. I just pay the points and leave the jump packs at home and put them all in raiders.

Now my question would be, is that a fair thing to do? I know i will only play it that way if everyone agrees so thats no problem, but i want to know if that's a fair price for a unit that is actually unique.

I believe i cover that by paying too much for the assault upgrade (by not using the jumppacks wich are also included in the upgrade cost) but as i have no experience with making up my "own" units, and costing them correctly i thought i'd ask here :D

Thx in advance!

There are 'official' rules for veterans in either White Dwarf or Citadel Journal ...

Actually it was in White Dwarf first, and I have the PDF. Check out page 7.
