What's the least amount of points per side to have a good game of Epic40K? I haven't played since Space Marine and we would play with 6+ titans per side and I don't even know the point ceiling. Most of that stuff is long gone though so I have just a bit of my original miniatures.

Thanks

We recently had some nice games with only 1000 points.

I recommend about 2500 usually, a lot of stuff on the table, some big warengines etc.

However, with 6 Titans you will bring about 3000 just in Titans. Let's say the games we had with only Titans on the table where among the less interesting ones.

Cheers,
Athistaur

I used to play 2000pts, and I remember the veteran's nights at my local GW way back in the late '90s were 1750pts (which were meant to be played in 70' for more game turnaround)

Using just infantry and armor, I'd say 1000 pts a side on about a 5' x 3' table top. Anything over that, on that size table, I would probably only add Heavy armor and Titans, etc. for additional points, or play on on a bigger table. Otherwise it's too crowded to maneuver and just becomes a shooting match.
Scenario, objectives, and terrain are probably more important to a fun game than just trying to max out on points. Some of the most enjoyable, stimulating, and challanging E40k I have personally played were using the 'fog of war' scenario from the Epic green Battles Book.

Cool, I should be able to pull off at least one army at 2K. I have in total 2 warhounds, one warlord, one reaver about 20 stands of marines and whatever came in the epic box set (still on sprues).

Is there anything you would recommend for Orks/Marines to pick up?

Was there ever a Space Wolves list for Epic 40K? What I think I have left of my infantry (painted at least) is a 'great company' from the old card-based lists.

Yes, I started a new topic to discuss special Space Marine detachments.
