I LOVE stompas. The first I saw of them were the first plastics ones for SM2/TL, and when I saw one was included in the Epic 40k Ork Mob box sets I fell over. I have lots of both versions of the plastic ones.

I didnt even know about the early metal ones till later.

When EpicA came along, I loved the new versions too, but couldnt justify paying what GW wanted, and I hated the soopa stompa.

I would love to be able to field all the Stompa variants in a couple of mobs. To me they are more Orky than most Ork units.

I do like the E:A versions with tracks better than feet/legs ... but :whistle 8)

Hi!

I always thought giving them "feet" was a little weird. For a race that is less techologically inclined, tracks are far easier to engineer than "walking".

True, and its even worse looking a gargants and the limited mobility due to their skirts.

But then again, its also ridiculous that Space Marines have been using the Rhino for 10,000 years too.

There are a lot of silly concepts in the 40k universe, but thats what kind of appealing about it sometimes.

Indeed ... and for me sometimes are VERY SILLY and very much NOT appealing ... :o ;) ;D We all have our own levels of how much suspension of belief, we are willing to go with Sci-fi ... :eh :-\ IMO, GW generally pushes my envelope often ... :whistle ^-^

I am okay with the designs, if they were a single point in time. Not stretched out over centuries.

Well we look at as like playing WWII ... The AFVs used in '39 - '40, many were not used by '42-'43 ... and more new AFVs were added by '44-'45 ... so I guess it's like playing by time period. I mean like you wouldn't see Tiger Is in 1940 games ... 8)

Hi!

The ladies are the old slaneesh deamonette figures (most of my minor demons are these old types).

The ork metal model looks like another stompa variant, although I sometimes confuse them with vintage 40k scale tinbotz.

Those are rogue trader ork runt bots, a 40k scale figure that happens to make a good proxie for stompas. I've got a couple somewhere.

see catalogue page here: http://solegends.com/citcat911/c2067orkinventshunz.jpg

Yep, as Apoco said, an old 40K Runt 'bot ... But we have some and use them for Stompas ... Here's the one I have in one of my Mobz ... Image And those women are no ladies ! They are Deamonetttes of Slann, are as Primarch said. Image [They moved while I was taking the pic ! :o ]
The old Epic Chaos had all their Lessor Deamons in metal. As well as the Greater Deamons, which were actually 40K scale Familairs ...

Hi!

No surprise it turn out to be from 40k. :)

They are indeed a nice proxy for stompas. :)
