This seems like a good idea as a prompt to get stuff done. My current aim is 3k or so of painted EpicUK Death Guard, something like: Death Guard Retinue Death Guard Retinue Daemon Prince Land Raiders (for one of the above) Defilers Plague Engines Plague Zombie Infestation Plague Reaper or two Plaguehound Titan Having been strongly into Epic back in the day (Adeptus Titanicus through Titan Legions) I have a bit of a head start as there's almost enough Chaos Marines in Nurgle colours for the two DG Retinues , a Nurgle-scheme Warhound which would do the job after rebasing from it's current square 40mm Monster Base and a partially-painted Mortarion for use as a Daemon Prince. Anyway... In our 'learning the game again games' (mostly against brokenbayonet) I've become very fond of Contagion Engines and came up with some cheap and quick all-plastic conversions, inspired by the Bombard conversions in the Epic UK PDF. Ingredients: Old placcy Land Raider, the more battered the better. 40k Chaos vehicle Combi Flamer. 40k Chaos vehicle gun heads. 1mm plasticard First, flip the Land Raider upside down and cut away the sponsons and the engine block area. Then cut off the Flamer nozzle and cable. Clean up the Flamer and a suitable gun gargoyle and glue it on where the nozzle was, making sure to centre it along the 'top' edge so that it will end up centred in the vehicle. As I cut the bottom of the Flamer totally flat it ended up slightly too far over to the right of the chassis, so some plasticard was added in as a space. Angle the top front edge of the upside-own Land Raider and glue the gun in at an angle. The result: For variety I also have some done with SM Hunter-Killer missiles as the base for the gun instead of the Combi Flamer but photos of those will have to wait. |

The downside is that they're maybe a bit bulky and armoured-looking for a 5+ save, the good side is that they're cheap and easy. |

I've been looking for a way to turn these into Daemonic Artillery for use in the Iron Warriors list, thank you so very much for this quick guide |

They can look big and bulky... but look at that big gas can, gotta be sensitive to bullets and explosins... so 5+ can work! Love the conversion keepem coming. |

More photos! Another of the Combi-Flamer based ones: Hunter Killer-based ones: Scale shot: Group shot, including a fifth unfinished one: As an experiment I tried adding some 'drool' with plastic putty but I'll have to see how that goes: More photos and bigger images on the blog: http://wargamingtrader.com/epic-death-g ... onversions |

A sneak-peek of what's coming up next, objective markers and a Plague Zombie Nurgling Infestation: Meanwhile, how common is it to base vehicles these days? When I played back in the day it was unheard of but these days it seems to be pretty common. The Land Raider chassis are a bit too big to fit on the 25mm discs I got from Fenris, so some 25x30mm roundrects might be needed. |

They're old Citadel models from the early Eighties. http://www.collecting-citadel-miniature ... lies_-_C29 |

The photos of the existing models have got misplaced during a server move and are going to take a few days to find and re-upload. Meanwhile, more assembly work. Nurgling Infestation basing: I'm looking at magnetising these by drilling a couple of 3mm holes in each ply disc and dropping in a 1x3mm neodymium magnet in each hole, which should be plenty to hold such small models. Now a bunch of objective markers. First your classic '2nd edition Marine guarded by an Epic Marine': An existing column with replaced model on top, the addition of all four Chaos power symbols and access hatches: Nurgle slime-production facility: As usual, bigger photos on the blog: http://wargamingtrader.com/epic-death-g ... -nurglings |

is the bowl on the slime factory made from a couple of marine shoulder pads? I may have to steal that idea for my plaguereapers..... |
