Defilers are looking great and the plaguereapers are excellent.

The legs and body are a single piece. I'll try and get the assembled models (so far) undercoated on the weekend.

Turns out there was a box of models hidden away at the back of my mum's attic. Including some Nurgle-themed Land Raiders I'd been trying to find and a whole bunch of other stuff as well!

Listing what's relevant for the Death Guard:

Three fully painted Land Raiders. A shame it isn't four, but I can always add a Predator to make an Armoured Company or a Rhino to transport a Retinue.
Another five Beasts of Nurgle, fully painted and based.
A couple of miniature lizards that could be used as additional Plague Infestation stands if I want to free up some of the Nurglings.
Six partially painted Predators, quite easily adjusted from their yellow base colour to yellow-green Nurgleness.
Three Bombards if I ever want to do a second Contagion Engine formation or add them to other formations.

Good to see my second and third Firelords again!

Woo paint! I've made a start on the Plague (Nurgling) Infestation and had a ton of fun with washes and glazes of different colours. Also one of the Plaguebearers because it was undercoated. The Nurglings themselves might need a bit more work.

A close-up of the Land Raiders raided from the attic. They're quite clean compared to the infestation but I'm probably going to keep a bit of a colour/style distinction between the actual Death Guard and all the gribblies/daemon engines.

Yet more Beasts of Nurgle.

I've also started putting together what will be some Death Guard Havocs - the strip bases will look a bit odd to start with but I'm eventually planning to rebase the rest of the infantry to match.

Plaguereaper two - 'How many turrets?!?' edition!

The same Magnagrapple bit for the end of the main gun and the same searchlight bowl, but this time with an old Warbike gun barrel, Macragge electro-fence zappy coil bits, a streetlight on top of the bowl and a whole bunch of cut down Battlewagon turrets to represent the 3 x Heavy Bolters and 3 x Lascannon.

Both assembled Plaguereapers ready for undercoating.

Then we have Defiler #6, originally it was going to have ack-ack guns on the sides using the turrets from the GZG spider drones but it didn't look right and a change of plan occurred...

The main body is a teleport homer sitting on top of a GZG wheeled drone, with the turret from that sitting on top of the mast. Tentacles were added where the guns were going to go and a shield with Nurgle symbol was added at the front.

All six Defilers, which should see me done for the 4k game at the end of the month, although in the long run I'll probably do some more.

A couple of scale comparisons with a Mk 7 Marine.

Next up, a vital bit of the army - Death Guard Havocs! As I'm using the EpicUK list, the base DG Retinue has no ranged weapons beyond small arms. So here's six stands of Havocs, to be added to two Retinues. For now they'll look a bit odd being on strip bases when the rest of the (very old) models are on square, but in the long run I'll be rebasing the older models.

Image

To get a bit more of a mixed feel and also because I didn't have enough CSM models to hand they're a very assorted bunch and include several conversions. 'Modern' CSM with the tip of a Land Speeder and a Chaos Squat with a Missile Launcher from a model that snapped at the knees:

The Heavy Plasma Gun/Plasma Cannon from the Land Speeder replacing a damaged ML:

In theory that's everything assembled for the end of the month game apart from a few more infestation stands.

Coming together nicely! Woeful lack of paint, though ;)

They're all undercoated now and most of the bases painted. I'm hoping to get a bit more done tonight.
