Great looking builds! An inspiration!

Ta! A silly amount of time is spent fiddling around with different bits and pieces until something comes together...

No photo update but the three non-tracked Plaguehound equivalents are now based and undercoated, hopefully I'll get some green on them tomorrow.

Basing process:

Add some wall bits.
Use Plasticine to break up the flatness of the base.
Add a layer of Vallejo Sandy Paste for texture.
Glue model in place.

Ta!

Bases pretty much done apart from some grass clumps as bushes.

'Houston, we have paint! I repeat, we have paint!'

Base colours, going for some Bilious Green panels to tie it in with the force, then lots of greasy metallics:

Thick washes over the Boltgun and bronze areas, the bronze wash had more dark brown in it.

Pink/purple areas done, a little bit of purple shading on the tentacles, a better pale gold found as a base colour for the remaining metallics.

Still to do - wash over the gold, some green shading on the tentacles, blue eyes. Then I'll call it done for now.

great work on the warjacks. I wanted to use them for Feral Titans as well, but found them a bit too small for my liking. I plan on adapting them to serve as Decimators, though!

The end of an era and the start of a new one...

The three Cryx Plaguehound conversions painted enough for game use, although we only managed 3/4 of a turn of the big game done due to gaming burnout. :(

Image

I also got the second Plague Reaper to a base-coloured state with the exception of the big tank/dome on top.

One idea for the dome would be the 'standard' transparent vessel half-full of yucky liquid but it's a pretty big surface area.

Anyway, I declare the Nurgley Appendage complete for 2013 plus a few days, here's the original list:

Death Guard Retinue
Death Guard Retinue
Daemon Prince
Land Raiders (for one of the above)
Defilers
Plague Engines
Plague Zombie Infestation
Plague Reaper or two
Plaguehound Titan

The only thing on there not done was a fourth Land Raider to be able to carry a whole retinue but there was enough other stuff to make up for it. :)

I will try and get a group shot done later this week, but now it's time for... (drum-roll)

ToEG2014 - Ian's Dribbly Gribblies!

Love those plaguehound conversions, still think they'd make great fiend proxies.

Hello, loving your bases. Are they literally just sandy paste, painted white and then washed? Or highlighted too?

Paste, white undercoat, wash. One of them was dry brushed afterwards but that made it look worse!

Oh very nice plague hounds. Nurgle is the only chaos stuff that has really interested me, if I do an army then I'll have to copy you and use the warjacks.
