Hi guys, This thread will be for the Blue Codex Marines I'm hoping to put together this year. The aim of this list is to put together a second force so that I have a 'pick up' army available if new players want a list to use, and also to try and tempt my brother out of retirement. I'm not neccessarily an Ultramarine fan, but I've picked up a bunch of marine minis from my brothers E40k set painted that way so I want these to match them. That way, if/when he does want to play again, he'll have a legal force to use. I'm intending for this to be painted to a table top standard, so there won't be any inspirational work here, but hopefully the army will grow. I'm not sure I'll manage 500pts every month as my hobby time is limited and my 'man den' is currently be used for storage following a house move, so I'm going to set myself a monthly target of one formation per month. Ok, where to start.... A quick root around the garage reveals I have the following to get started on:- (In no particular order) Predators Whirlwinds Land Raiders Attack bikes Landspeeders Dreadnoughts Rhinos Assorted infantry 4 FW marauder bombers 2 FW warhound titans At this stage I have a lack of the following:- Thunderhawks Vindicators Bikes Hunters Reaver titans It's worth noting that I'm not a marine player, so anyone who has any helpful advice; please feel free to impart it! Made a start last night, and got a bunch of bits put together. Also managed to knock together some Hunters based on Razorback chassis and Ork gunwagon Big Guns. I'm quite happy with how they came out. You should give me a set to dispose of for you  Also regarding your hunters, these nice little turrets from EW look and work great for as a variant http://www.exoduswars.com/6mm-Guild-Icharus-SPAAG-Turret/dp/B006LM5IM6 They really give it a naval Phalanx CIWS feel. |

I picked up these on the basis that I liked the models - I tend to pick up a lot of stuff in this way! I then work backwards to try and get a list which is semi effective rules-wise. Most of the lists I've drawn up tend to revolve a pair of tactical formations backed up by a pair of assault squads. Not a marine company in the purest sense, but about the same size. Will try and post my proposed list up tomorrow to get and get some pointers from those more experienced than me... |

No full formations to report as of yet, but here's a WIP of the Razorbacks and the converted Hunters for the time being. I'm not too pleased with them, but I have to keep reminding myself that these are designed to be tabletop quality only. Sometimes it's hard to refrain from spending more time doing a better job!
