Post subject:  ToEG 2012 Kuster's new project

I have several armies sitting in boxes which need some paint work done and I just noticed this thread so what better time to get one of them finished, only problem not sure which one?

I have Squats, Imperial Guard and Chaos which are ready assembled and primered.
I also have Necrons and Tau but only recently acquired the models.
So I will update the subject line with army intention by tomorrow as I decide which route to go.
By the way there are some fantastic painted armies already shown here which gives me some great insperation to move ahead with the project.

Thats the nice thing about TOEG- gives you extra impetus to get your own figures painted. Good luck with whichever one you choose!

I think it will be the Squats, got them all laid out will take a pic and post and using the army list from the Compendium. Now need to think of a color scheme?

Just curious what list are most people using for the Squats? And I would like some suggestions on the Land Tain, how many cars, how to base it? Thanks

Thurgrimm's stronghold list is the main pre-Tyranid invasion Squat list and is an Experimental list in the 2012 Net EA Army Compendium. As it is an Experimental list it is still subject to significant change.

Main topic of conversation at the moment were the size of Warrior Brotherhood formation, whether it comes with transports, speed 10cm or 15cm, best way of representing Squat stubbornness, and appropriate level of firepower.

As you can see there are a lot of things up in the air for even such a core formation. Land Trains have been discussed but nothing settled yet in terms of numbers of battlecars and stats etc.

Suggest you browse the sub-forum:
viewforum.php?f=134

Or look through the 2012 Net EA Army Compendium- Squats are last half dozen pages. But just be prepared for all of the units could be subject to change.

Cheers

James

Thanks, I have looked through most of the sub-forums and there are still some loose ends with the army but I'll stick with the Compendium list for now and paint them as such. Can't see it straying to far from what's already been designed, hopefully.

So it's a toss up between the Nuln Oil wash and the Asurman Blue. I'll be starting to get my first 500 points done soon, look forward to trying out the army as well, have no idea how they will play yet.

Are you set on a wash over grey undercoat?

I am not convinced of it as the sole colour on Rhinos. Maybe as part of an overall colour scheme or with a secondary colour for contrast? But just my opinion- if you like it then stick with it.

It's for a base mostly but I am n ot set on it other then ease of painting, I'll do a little more work on the color schemes I like and see how they turn out. Thanks for your commments though.
