Greetings, I've joined the races to finish up my squat army. Having already painted some infantry formations, termites, gyrocopters and mcfs, I'm not restricted to a complete list but will paint to supplement the forces already done. I'll paint 500 pts each month from the following as of Demiurg Consortium list 4.0: 1 Goliath Mega-cannon Battery: 2 Goliath - 300 pts 1 Goliath Mega-cannon Battery: 2 Goliath - 300 pts 1 Journeymen Brotherhood w. Journeymen Affiliates: 6 bikers and 4 trikes - 350 pts 1 Journeymen Brotherhood w. Journeymen Affiliates: 6 bikers and 4 trikes - 350 pts 1 Steadholder Retinue: 6 heartguard, cavalry upgrade + 1 character - 375 pts 1 Steadholder Retinue: 6 heartguard, cavalry upgrade + 1 character - 375 pts 1 Grand Battery w. Lineholders Affiliates: 9 Mole Mortars - 350 pts 1 Grand Battery w. Lineholders Affiliates: 9 Thudd Guns - 300 pts 1 Land Train w. 4 Battle Cars - 500+ First up is 1 Goliath Battery + 1 Grand Battery (Mole Mortars) - I often face Tyranids, so I need those BPs ![]() The theme is based on an industrial mining consortium, so the colours are kept pretty basic in olive drab with orange helmets/detailing. I have chosen to move away from the "traditional" bright squat colours to give an impression of a demiurg colonialist expeditionary force rather than a squat home world army. Cheers, Thomas |

Squat seen to be awefully popular in this ToEG series. I guess I should start looking for models on Ebay myself... Good luck. |

@Helge: If you find any spare Thunderfire AA guns, let me know ![]() I based all 6 brotherhoods yesterday and undercoated both Grand Batteries as well as half the bikes and have now begun painting up this months contribution. I think I'm gonna paint yellow helmets and hats instead of orange. It's a better contrast to the green and looks more striking on the battlefield and it allows me to use yellow and black hazard caution markings on the vehicles. Besides, my old RT Squat army had yellow helmets, blue vests and red arms/legs, so there's a nostalgic touch to it ![]() |

Real life kinda took over this last month, but I'm close to have finished the lot for August. Pictures will follow. Last Sunday we played an EA Apocalypse game at the local gaming club with 12500-14000 points on each side and my squat super heavy assets rose to the occasion, annihilating almost all opposition on my end of the battlefield ![]() I'll post pictures in my other thread soon of the apoc battle (when I get hold of some, I didn't take any pics myself) , more squats and my eldar - yeah I managed to get some painting done in August, just not squat artillery ![]() |

Pix are a bit dark, so it's kinda hard to see well, but I really like the stripes on the Mole Mortars. I might steal your idea if that's okay?! ![]() |

A very characterful start to the force. If they all look like that and retain the hard steel feel, it will be a very effective looking force. |

Yeah, apologies about the dull pics. It's raining here in Copenhagen (go figure) so daylight was not an option. I'll try to keep the army colours in olive drab and metal with industrial hazard warning like on the mortars. I've never done hazard warnings before so it has taken me a bit of practice to get the technique right, hence the delay on the goliaths which are practically done. I'm looking at various ways to freehand on my larger machinery, trying to distance them from the classic "fantasy" dwarf feel. Aliens (the movie) inspired letters seems to be the way I'm going right now, but feel free to suggest ... well any suggestions are welcome! Thanks for your comments! Cheers, Thomas PS Squats have been deleted from the Imperial files, Demiurgs still exist? I don't know, I have the minis and they kick ass! ![]() |

blackhorizon wrote: If I recall correctly: Squat =/= Demiurg Two different species. Really? I don't know that it was ever literally spelled out, but as far as I was aware it was heavily implied that the Demiurg were Squats. Nice work on the models! The black and yellow strikes look particularly good with the whole scheme. |
