Definately dude. Muchly appreciated. For now I am concentrating on getting as much painted as possible. If I ever do go with 'skull masks', they themselves are a 5 min job max per 8 bases I would guess. Not a big issue. What my main goal is - is to get everything that I have listed, painted to a pleasing standard. I would like - for once - to play a game with my own fully painted army. :)

Oh I quite agree! I've been trying hard to finish one force for each game system I play for that exact reason!

I figure once I have a force for each game, I can go back and add more armies to each. :D

Only a small update on this one (no pics as yet).

I have finished 3 Slaughterfiends and started on the 2 others for the World Eater Chosen Marines.

I am yet to place the riders on, however I should have them done this week. In the meantime, I have started to plan for the colour scheme of the Chosen Marines.

I am wanting to go a very dark look (black I guess) to help represent their ability to scout ahead and to look different on a table top. Here are some examples that I am working off:

Image

I am going to test
- red armour with the bone trim
- red armour with a black Trim
- black Armour with a Red trim
- black armour with a bone trim
- red armour + black trim with a patch of blue or white.

In each of these cases, I am also going to look at what I am doing with the helmet, leaving it black or red. So that leaves me with quite a few combinations. I hope to get some samples up this week.

I think Epic is the only game system where I have actually managed to paint an entire army. 6mm for the win.

Plus, I only think it is appropriate for an army champion to have a painted army for their "own" list ;)

I got nothing painted tonight. It appears that I am hooked on the show Californication, and until I get my fix, the minis will remain unpainted.

It is my hope that tomorrow I will have the strength of will to sit down and paint, and not be drawn to the xbox remote.

My name is Frogbear, and I am addicted to Californication. Admitting you have a problem is the first step ... right?

I just started season 1. I am unaware at this time what season they are up to.

In the meantime I have managed to paint up Slaughterfiends number 4 and 5.

I have the riders to paint up now (they have been base coated in red), and then the chains to fit on them (and then I have to paint the chains). Then I have to base them.

If all goes to plan (aha) I am hoping to finish my first TOEG monthly task by the end of this week.

Been planning ahead and trying to come up with the colour scheme for my World Eater Chosen.

Below is what I think I am settling on (as a scheme - forget about how shoddy the paint job is). It is no frills, mean, and just how I picture the Chosen should be:

Image

I have deliberatly keptr away from the gold due to these guys being scouts. I may make them darker (with a wash), however being painted from a black undercoat, it is already quite dark. I still need to pick out the black bits and darken up that bolter nozel and sword hilt. Not sure on what I am doing with the chain sword yet...

So black armour edging it is it seems for these bad boys.

What about a reversal of the normal Berserker colours? So black with red trim headpiece and weapons? It'd look more camo-ey/discrete and also still keep the classic colours.

If there was an easy way to do it, I'd be tempted to maybe swap the chainswords for axes (quieter, also more 'Khorne') .

I'd also perhaps mount them three to a base as well (to show their looser squad cohesion as scouts).

I was just thinking about that as well. I just have not been bothered picking up that brush again :) I will try it either tonight or tomorrow and post the pic up. It may work. I just do not really want to leave the skull black and the headpiece red as then he will look really "Micky Mouse" :P

If I can find an easy conversion I will do it. In the meantime, any chainsword conversion will be set for the Bloodlord (SC) as it will be too much work. It will also make the Bloodlord stand out as different (having the chainaxe as opposed to the chainswords).

It will either be 3 or 4 to a base - not sure. I may actually place small wall sections on the bases to also represent them scouting ahead.

Man I can't wait to finish these Slaughterfiends and get onto these other units...

So I have continued to push myself and have got up to this stage.

I used blue ink to give the power flails that 'electric' type of look rather than being boring old plain metal.

Image

On the left are the Slaughterfiends for the Bloodpack and on the right, the Slaughterfiends reserved for the Chosen

Image

Next Steps:
1. Touch up parts where the models are glued to the Slaughterfiend
2. Attach the chains
3. Paint the chains
4. Base the Slaughterfiends into their positions

Like I stated, I am wanting this finished by the end of this week.

That's a really good sculpt of a finger. Paintjob is super realistic, too!

I don't know... I think it needs a wash or some drybrushing to bring out the fingerprints better. The colors look a little flat at the moment.
