Progress!

A bunch of textured and base-coated bases:




Re-undercoated objective plus a couple of stages of bronze. Any tips on getting a verdigris effect?

The sponsons were made from the two front parts of a 40k Marine Hunter Killer missile, I've got a bunch of them spare having used the main parts for all the gun barrels.

However I'm undecided on whether to fill the tank with gloop or have a merry Nurgle Deamon (cut up 28mm Nurgling) splashing around:

Though the idea that they've actually hooked a nurgle plague deamon up and siphoning off goo is pretty fruckin awesome.
I'd do the barrel of pus on this one and if you make a 2nd one go with the nurgle hooked up to hoses that run up to the nozzle

Yes, I'll go with the goo on this one but the second will incorporate the Nurgling in some way. Possibly just the very tip of the head and fly eyes showing above the goo surface.

Anyway, the first Defiler is assembled!



So, GZG Spider Drone legs. A very old Marauder DE shield for the carapace, held up by a random bit of plastic rod. Three tentacles from a 28mm Spawn. Three small bits of rod on the underside of the shield rim to form mini turrets. Guns are two Sentinel Multilasers and a chopped up RT-era Laspistol.



The rest are going to vary from model to model but I'll try to keep the basic 'six legs plus a circular body and some tentacles' theme to give them a bit of consistency. The next one planned has a small 28mm Nurgling as the gunner for a massive rotary cannon.

really like the spider drone defiler idea.... the legs look ideal, may have to get some to cut up for making my own plague hulks/defilers

Just watch out for casting quality on the spider drones, some of them are pretty messy. Doesn't really matter so much for Nurgle though.
