Shame you're not enjoying it because the results are great- lovely paint jobs. It will be a pleasure to see the complete army group shot. Keep on going!!

Cheers

James

Very nice! Good use of round bases for this lot. :)

I actually like the Squat story and even the infantry models. That's why I started the army. The problem with the metal models is that they are simply ancient. Mold lines everywhere (often unfixable), "soft" details, pitted surfaces, etc. I have left:

3 Overlord Airships
2 Land Trains with Cars
1 Cyclops
1 Leviathan
1 Colossus with gyrocopter
1 Hellbore
2 Moles
3 Objectives (still need to be built)

Working on a display base for the lot...

I like how you've added infantry to the Goliaths and Thunderfires. Makes them look a lot less generic.

Keep up the good work! I sympathise with your plight - the old metals are awful in times and I wish everything was made in plastic like the infantry and Rhinos. It's the missing rivets on the Iron Eagles, round corners and mold line steps. I've been experimenting with Liquid Green Stuff to soothe the pitting.

Some progress... I am almost done with the remaining models. Just clean-up, final wash and decals left... Should be coming this week.

Great looking Squats.

You mentioned earlier you used washers, covered hole with tape and then covered with spackfiller.

2 Qs:
What diameter/thickness washers did you use?

Did you have to water down or mix something with the spackfiller? - the stuff I bought was really hard to spread and get it to adhere to the washers.

Cheers

Basing instructions and sizes found here: http://wargamingworkshop.wordpress.com/ ... rmageddon/

I use interior spackle. The stuff is pink and dries white. I sand the washers with rough sandpaper to give it some surface grip but otherwise the spackle goes on easy.

The final few Squat models are rolling in (on really tiny threads... with no clearance... a toothpick could stop these things from moving...)

The only models left at this point are the Hellbore, "surfaced" markers for the Moles and Hellbore, and three objectives.

Any ideas for objective markers?
