A meet up and a website both sound cool. We could have a communal ToEG thread on warseer as well for publicity.

A communal TOEG thread on warseer would be nice indeed ! We could sneak a certifiably genuine Epic thread in the general painting forum there without issue.

I don't know if I'd be able to come at a meet-up (I haven't played in ages), but I'd surely try :)

edit : and you reminded me I need to cook up something, say at least ONE entry, for the Epicomp this year... After all, now that I'm finally showing some pics, after maybe 7 years of oogling at other people works, I might as well have a go at the Comp.

I'm going to try to participate this year. However, I'm not sure what to paint. There are so many choices. Continued work on my knights or Squats comes to mind, but maybe I should start a new army, like Chaos.

This all sounds like a lot of fun, the area I live in is sadly pretty devoid of epic gamers (as far as I know) so would be fun to meet up with others.

Would anybody have any objections me carrying on my pitiful attempt from last year into this one?

I wouldn't.

'Course not.
I started Eldar years ago, and I'll be continuing them, albeit with a different craftworld. (Alaitoc instead of Nemusa)

Cool,

Well if there aren't any other objections I'm in.

I'll be bringing a Skitarii force to the table.

I believe the NetEA project will be setting up a website for the completed armies book soon, the TOEG could possibly piggyback on that site.

Do we have any idea how soon 'soon' might be? I'm particularly asking as I have access to sneakily print as much as I want off now, but I might be going back to uni full time for a year from September and living a life of abject poverty, where printing becomes an expensive luxury. If it won't be till after September-time I'll have to weigh up whether to print some or all of what's around at the moment now or to wait.

I may join in TOEG this year again and perhaps even paint something this time if we're lucky - it's well past time I got an army painted and without work I hope I'd have more time and motivation to paint, but my future's completely up in the air at the moment so who knows. I'd be painting my Martian tank army.

I think we're likely to know how soon "soon" is when Chroma gets back online in a couple of weeks, and Hena comes back from holiday. I understand they have a few more votes to make on what lists to make NetEA Approved.

I am trying to get some Squats done, and failing last year to do any, I'd quite like a bit of motivation.

I wouldn't be looking to do a set points though, as I will be using them for NetEpic, E40k and FWC, and they each have different unit requirements for formation sizes.

Either way, it'd be a balanced army overall (much like Scream's or Ulric's), and I'd be happy to contribute any images people like to any potential fan-made Squat supplements too as a beneficial side-effect.

Would that be good enough?

Also, a little subforum with a thread for each participant might be the best way to present the armies and track progress. Otherwise it all gets a bit mangled up and hard to follow. Plus, it makes it easier for casual forum browsers to dip into rather than be faced with a 27-page thread to wade through!

Sure, more the merrier. Looking forward to seeing your work :)

Last year each person had a separate thread in the 6mm section and there was then a master thread with hyper-links in, which was a good way to organise/track, except that the master thread seems to have disappeared somewhere :P
