Hi All

I need help with an idea.

At present I am trying to make some objectives for the Khorne force and I am going with the themes of BONE, BLOOD and BRASS.

Now I have BONE as shown above and here:


I am working on an idea for BLOOD and hope to have this finished within the week

What I need is BRASS. It is easy enough to find a Khorne symbol and do it, however are there any further ideas out there for BRASS? It needs to fit on a 30mm base so that is something to think of as well. I even had an idea for a brass statue of a Berserker (40k scale in the tradition of Ray Harryhausen) yet holding off on this in the hope of something better.

Any ideas out there?

I assume the world eaters legion marching brass band isn't the type of input you're looking for?

Although that would be funny and do-able, I think it would detract from the theme of scary guys that want to fill you with a cchainaxe rather than using brass musical instruments.

So no (other) ideas out there at all

Well if you're not going to use the brass band idea, i may have to steal it instead

Aside from that im not really sure, what about molten brass? maybe melting down enemy war gear to cast khrone symbols or something

While working on the 'Blood' objective - cutting it from one base to another - the knife slipped.

No idea how bad it is as the thumb went straight into my mouth as I ran upstairs to get a bandage on it. All I remember is a large flap of white skin and a shite load of blood. Now it is pulsing like a bitch.



I will not be deterred however as the good fight must be fought! I will complete painting and modelling this army.

Lessen to be learned: Respect the really sharp knife that cost more than my blunt ones.

the blood gods demand payment for meddling in there domain.

I did basically the same thing many years ago chopping the head off a genestealer...
so the lesson there is, in about ten years from now, you'll be cutting something and will carve the hell out of your knee. so watch out for that one.

the thumb turned out fine, not even a scar, so i dont even remember what thumb it was (but i'd guess probably left)

There was enough blood for many objectives.

Rather than a sacrificial/worship thing - that is pretty much what the 'bone' objective is - the 'blood' objective is more of a gate where daemons rise out of it - a pool of blood for other words. I should have it painted up within the week. I am just undercoating it now.

Very nice work.

One often forgets how dangerous a hobby this is. I have had several quite severe injuries while modeling. Perhaps that is just me though..? Once I cut heavily into my thump and that always bleeds intensly I stood up quite fast to go to the bathroom but that caused med to get a headrush so I blacked out in the hallway and went down. And at that exact moment my girlfriend walked through the front door to se me go down with blood squirting everywhere. Later we have laughed at that quite a bit, but just there, she definately did not find it funny..

My worst injury was when I dropped my scalpel in my lap and instinctly closed my legs with the result that I stabbed myself quite severely in the thigh.

It is strange, that just before you do hurt yourself like the examples above, you are most likly thinking about what could happen and your mind goes "stuff it" and you do it anyway, later to regret or forget that you had the choice and chose to ignore that little voice

Scalpel cuts are a bitch to get closed and seal up. pressure for an hour sometimes hasn't been enough when I;ve cut my thumb before.

Just checking; you are going to the doctor, right? If it's that bad to need a bandage then it may well need stitches.

Trust me, as a connoisseur of hand injuries.
