thank you for the kind words
today i made up the other 11 heavy flambes, as well as sprueing up the rest of the death brigade troopers and a few sets of snipers for undercoating.
then, in what i can only assume is a continuing effort to avoid actually painting anything, i started experimenting on the death brigade sergeant model. as i mentioned earlier, i am using the DRM jungle shock trooper models, and i am not keen on the sarge (or atleast who i take to be the sarge) model, most specifically, the sword in his left hand. the pose is quite odd for a bladed weapon, in that it seems he's resting it's hilt in the crook of his arm somehow. the end result is not satisfying, so i decided to try putting a gun there instead.
my initial experiment was with the gun from an EW support sergeant (again, i assume, its from a figure i got in the support squad pack) which looked much better
then i tried with a normal EW mook, which also looked much better, although it ends up looking rather like an m16 without a clip, i toyed with making one out of plasticard, but instead decided a different tack

excuse the poor pictures, tiny little shiney metal figures with white plastic do not photograph well on my little camera late at night. hopefully you can sort of see what i've done here. it's a double barrel shotgun (two 1mm plasticard rods, a small plasticard handgrip, bulked out and textured via greenstuff. there's also a tiny ironsight that i added.)
i suspect i may be mad.
anyways, it looks pretty good, trying to decide which method i will use to make another 9 of them, but either way, i wont get them undercoated tomorrow morning (and they are forcasting rain in the afternoon)
