The increased size of the bases, only 4 dudes, and spacing of them seems more realistic. It is a good look. Great idea Thanks. I never liked how crowded the models always were. In my opinion these look better on the table and it stretches my limited models into a larger force. Some of the larger in...

The Black Jack's Mercenary Company got another assignment. This time they were to push a combined arms House Kurita force out of a built up area and secure the area for their employer. The battle was certainly in favor of the Black Jack's on the attacking side, but the defenders put up a solid defen...

Much progress has been made this month. I was worried how quickly I could paint the guard as it takes a lot of these guys to add up to many points. My worries were unfounded and my simple paint scheme seems to be working well and still looks pretty decent. I've got the models for my goal painted, ba...

I have good memories of the RT IG.

Will you try to do the stripes on the helmets?

I have thought about it, but I'm not sure I'm going to go that path. I'm worried it won't look good at this scale.

After a month off, I'm excited to get back to work. I will be working on Imperial Guard this month and have a decent start already. I've got an infantry company in the works and pulled out some sentinels and Leman Russes to get them ready for the paint table. Below you can see a sample of the colors...

I've now finished 4 sections and have a 4' x 4' area to play on. I still plan to do 2 more sections, but I'm taking a break on this so I can get back to work on the Tale of an Epic Gamer painting project. I hope to play a game in the next week or two and will post an AAR when I do. More pictures and...

Great project! I must admit that is an intriguing terrain type to be fighting over - I'd like to see a battle report once it's ready!

Me too.

I've made some more progress. I've completed 2 boards and have 2 more ready for flock. My hot knife is having issues so I've got to get that figured out before I can cut the final 2 boards. More details can be found on my blog. http://gamingandshooting.blogspot.com/2015/04/terrain-project-sink-holes...

First of all, I would like to thank everyone for the kind words. The encouragement has really helped me keep on task and working toward my monthly goals. I've made good progress and have completed about 5,000 points of models so far this year. I'm going to be taking April off so I can work on finish...

I'm a bit late finishing my March goal, but better late than never. I like how these turned out. I mostly based 4 models per 40mm x 20mm base. For the stealers, most of them have 3 models per base and then a piece of a rubble building. This is to help me stretch out the models I have. I thought abou...

Looking good! If you want something that's almost indestructible, green sticky-back felt is perfect. Feels lovely to the touch, too. It is abstract rather than realistic, though: board.png That isn't a bad idea. I have been planning to use the same thing I did on my hills so they all match, but I m...

I've made some more progress on the project. I've got 4 of the 6 sections cut. I started to texture these and got the first board done. After I get these textured, I will start painting. I promise that after paint and texture these will start to look better. More pictures and details can be found on...

I've been playing a bit of BattleTech: Alpha Strike lately and decided I wanted to work on a special table for the game. After digging through my pile of BattleTech maps, I decided to try my hand a building a Sink Hole table. While I'm building this primarily for use with BattleTech games, it will w...

Some friends and I got together last week to play another game of Alpha Strike. This time around we played the Reconnaissance mission using the Easter Egg Hunt variant. Essentially both sides are trying to find their 6 objectives from 12 possible locations. Some may be the same as the opponent and s...

Most of the models are from the basic box. You can't complain about 26 models for $50. (I bought it a while ago, I think it is $60 now).

I encourage you to give it a try. It is a good game, IMHO.

I have another game planned for tonight. I'll try to post an AAR.
