My son has recently bought one of these printers (Anycubic Photon) and is also looking at a Necron army. It will be really interesting to see how you get on as there are some great designs on Thingiverse.

Best of luck with the army.

Just seen this thread - the first orky Gargant reminds me so much of Ro-Jaws from 2000AD....

Thank you both. I particularly like the Cylon raider (the Plasmablast fighter perhaps looks a little too 'human' if that's the right phrase ! - lots of other interesting stuff on their site though). There are some perfect designs on thingiverse and I understand that you can send the design to a thir...

>>I've seen some bomb ass eldar stuff on thingiverse It does seem a bit small but I haven't seen anything better yet. I will have a look on thingiverse but understood this was just a set of designs for home 3d printers (rather than 3d items for sale). I might be wrong. Let me know if you find anythi...

I have been building a Dark Eldar army using Vanguard minis (yay !) but have not been able to find a suitable model for the Razorwing Fighter. My son found this and thought it might work I totally agree - a great find: http://www.ralparthaeurope.co.uk/shop/noble-armada-c-167/decados-c-167_170/22204-...

Thank you for the replies. "...Zenithal highlights..." "Que ?" (quick google) "Understanding dawns !" Interesting idea but will it work with teeny tiny 6mm ? Contrast paint over silver base sounds a little easier and more practical. Seriously, I like both ideas and will...

Hi folks, Just wondered whether anyone has any painting tips to achieve the 'coloured metallic' effect in 6mm seen in the various Heresy books ? Hard to describe well but here is an example: https://www.pinterest.co.uk/pin/803822233471290271/ The plan is to, eventually, raise a Heresy era World Eate...

Thank you for the quick reply - much appreciated. Now our formations will no longer live in fear of enemy aircraft taking pot shots..

Interesting how your preconceptions can be wrong !

Thanks again, Phil

Grateful for your thoughts on the effect of shooting at broken formations. We thought this was nice and clear until we read the rules again.. For many years we have assumed that, when a formation is broken, it doesn't get a save if shot at. So, 3 shots at a broken formation = four automatic kills (t...

In a recent game against the dreaded Necrons (boo hiss !), a question came up about the use of Monoliths. Specifically, whether broken Monolith formations can still act as a portal ? Because of the small size of the formation (four), they do become broken quite regularly in our games and this questi...

This is excellent news - really looking forward to these. I have seen them used with 6mm figures and they match up perfectly well : This site gives some idea (as well as being a source of almost un-natural inspiration ! https://wargamesasp.wordpress.com/2017/12/29/6mm-japanese-village-bases-for-seng...

Whatever GW release now won't change the fact that (a) EA is an excellent game and (b) our group plays it on a regular basis. There is a definitely a fan boy perception that a game becomes obsolete when 'official' support is withdrawn. That you can't continue to play games you love just because ther...

Okay, here's some pics. With these, I tried a new effect (adding lots of dust and mud). This actually looks better in real life than on the pics but is really easy to do (watered down PVA, a few drops of dark brown paint & baking powder). Anyway, hope you like the pics. http://i761.photobucket.c...

I've just painted a batch of the Novans for a friend (both winter and urban varieties) and i've got to say that these are some of the best 6mm figures I've seen. So easy to paint.
