Hi all, Tuffskull and Nealhunt are right about the coal, it is a plant deposit compacted by the pressure of deposits to form a mineral-like solid. re fuel efficiency: oil-based fuels generally combust more efficiently and have a higher calorific value, which means you get more stomp per tonne - engi... |

Hmmm - I'd forgotten about the Mortifactors.... ok, daddy Guilleman it is, then! Gorgons for command - could work - just the 4 Gorgons are, as you pointed out, Xavi, not enough, and I am backing them up with Rhinos/Razors. Megadreads? ummmm. Not convinced - yet. It could work, but I have to put it t... |

Quote (Tas @ 02 2003 Nov.,08:54)I like it Vanvlak! Your fluff is very topical and fits in well with the new stuff. ?Its different havign a Chaoter Master as a dreadie! ?Nice twist. ?So does he harbour a particular hatred for the Demiurg and Necrons now given their recent run-ins with them? What was ... |

Ares Guard space marines: Mechanised theme, with all troops on Rhinos/Razorbacks. Land Raiders, Whirlwinds.Vindicators in support. Old robot models used as Dreads Chapter Master dreadnought Nestor I am thinking of using the old Gorgon transports as Rhinos - as marines are armoured, open-topped-ness ... |

Thanks I guess I'm now committed to the Ares Guard... Malta warm? It's extremely humid and sticky and overcast today, feels like a Catachan jungle without the trees. I'd like to see more of the Demiurg too - so a pinch of enmity from my chapter helps me remember they exist and hope for more. ... |

Back again: with a spot of fluff (the undetailed version): The Ares Guard are believed a late-founding chapter, originally named Achaean Guard. Their founding world, Halicarnassos, was destroyed in the Scyrian incident, believed by the Inquisition to have been caused by the Demiurg. The Chapter Mast... |

Awww, thanks guys - the Ares guard may just have been reprieved. I'll try to take some pics - but, better still, I think I have an idea for a better colour scheme than the original, which had vehicles and troops which looked like faded Blood Angels dropouts. Will try it out; snapshots by Monday, I h... |

Hi all, I'm practically newborn here (1 day old at epicomms), having landed yesterday as a result of seeing mention of the Epic painting competition and tracing the link. I'm an engineer, and anything with 'tech' or 'mech' in its names makes me happy so (end of fluff on myself)... ...I had started a... |
