I did kind of warm to the idea of some sort of quadrapedal walking machine, something like the walkers in Clone Wars films. I'll have a look for something suitable to base it on, Dark Realms maybe?

On the AMTL list Gorgons are listed as a walkers, what do others see them as resembling so that I have an idea of what kind of proxy to field.

Quote:  Easier (I guess this was where it went astray) to get Epic II gamers of old to get their armies out again. They don't have to reorganize their armies, just learn a new setof rules (which are extremly easy to learn). Who are these people? I've been playing Epic since AT1 and none of my ...

Club video of our massive BFG/Epic/40K Apocalypse game, can't remember if it made it to the previous forum.

Good fun and we want to repeat it next year!

Quote:  All of these things makes it, as I see it, hard to bring back the players to the Epic table. As more of a player than a contributor, I don't see it that way, thats more to do with miniature production for the system. I think this forum does a grand job of keeping Epic rules alive and k...

GHQ, its definitely weak at the knees stuff! I have a 1991-2005 US Armoured Battlegroup for CWC and I have to agree with their tag line, they are the best damn miniatures available!

Thanks to Neal et al for the clarity, time to dig out the troops methinks, although as a purely self indulgent by-line I saw some pictures of my Leman Russ's and Valkyries made it into Epic Raiders!!

I've been away from the Epic and Taccomms forum for quite some time so am feeling out of the loop with the all the big changes, can I ask: Q1) A revised EA rules set was published on Tactical Command that had been produced by forum members, is that still active and where is the link. Q2) I notice a ...

QUOTEIt is a bit irritating - surely we have enough ideas to render it un-needed by now! IMO that depends on whether you are trying to create a game that just happens to be about war, or whether you are trying to replicate war in a game. IMO orders reflects better the risk a force takes when engagi...

Have to say as a long time Epic fan and now player of Cold War Commander, I am now looking forward to the release of Sci-fi Commander. At least I can guarantee continual developer support for it unlike EA. Interesting though GW Epic minis have been crossed from the inclusion list, apparently GW aren...

I've not played BKC, although the mechanic is apparently very similar. BKC came out first so the modifications were done for CWC, but I was already a FoW player and have stuck to it for WW2. T The BKC/CWC website is full of good stuff. I'm playing tonight and can't wait to try out my artillery asset...

QUOTETas ? Posted on Apr. 01 2008,21:04 How do you rate it against FoW? Very different. I'm a big FoW fan and love the mechanic but FoW is more comparable to WH40K (Igoyougo, each unit 1 activation.) Cold War Commander is derived from Warmaster and therefore units can romp across the battlefield if...

We have just started playing Cold War Commander at our club and really enjoying it. We play Flames of War for WW2 but wanted to try something else for modern combat and this fits the bill! We use 6mm figures mainly from GHQ as it fits with the terrain we have for Epic. I think the command system is ...

Possibly, but for me the 60 point Standard LR are a bargain and probably underpriced. It wouldn't matter massively if Thunderes didn't have the MW its the 40 pts, RA and 6 strong platoons that make them useful.
