it sounds like you have to forget everything you take for granted - great idea to have a single special mission like this in a 3 game tourny

useful info - I didn't realise it was possible to do that. I vaguely thought that if you had that situation where both attacker and defenders are in combat with multiple enemies you break them up into pairs - but that might be something half remembered from 2nd edition. It's clearly possible in E:A ...

The last official GW FAQ covered this to some degree. It said: 2.1.12 Scout Q: It’s possible to place a Scout unit just behind another friendly unit, so that the Scouts 10cm ZOC covers the friendly unit too. If this happens, can I charge the non-Scout unit? The rules say I can’t enter a ZOC unless I...

Just what I was thinking, and that nids with lower activations could teleport turn one and guarantee 1st activation. But Steves krieg does look pretty optimal. Look fwd to the pics.

It's advantageous for the necrons to roll to rally before regenerating a unit if they have an odd number of units as they end up with less blast markers. However the End Phase FAQ says resolve 'end of turn' effects before rallying so I think it's pretty clear already that regenerating is an end of t...

I don't think it's helping the cause to ask for changes to support slots when it's fairly clear - it makes no difference to power level - it makes the list more boring - theres precedent of equal and more flexibility elsewhere (and conformity of lists is not an objective) - it invalidates people's a...

This is at the heart of it. I don't know how we arrived at idea that the issue is one particular list (when there are stronger ones) or triple alpha strike (which hardly anyone does) or that the solution should be something that has wider effect than stopping triple alpha strike. Interestyingly some...

could rebrand BT eldar as "codex eldar" by just dropping VS and COTYK (in line with fluff) then create a BT specific developmental list with those two units plus heavy aspect theme.

3 reasons not to make up rules for hills:
- not KISS so not good for tournaments
- messes with relative value of units (shadowswords, overlords)
- hills are normally the lowest piece of terrain so looks stupid if troops on a 2cm hill are shooting over 5cm buildings.

Is it normally possible at tournaments with a higher strategy army to be able to deny your opponent area terrain in their DZ by choosing corners and picking accordingly? Or is DZ terrain normally placed centrally or symmetrically (and should it be)?
