From the GW World's Faceplant page: ***ATTENTION ALL HOBBY FANS!*** Some , frankly, mental hobbyists are coming up to Warhammer World this weekend to put on what will be the single biggest game of Warhammer 40,000 we have ever seen here. Eighteen players will be bringing almost a quarter of a millio...

I didn't say it was the end of the hobby. I said it has hit an all time low with uselessness of Apoc.

My point was that the quoted statement seemed to indicate that there was a difference in the scale of the models between Apoc and 40k.

"...who wouldn't want to have a 40k scale baneblade or a warhound sat on their shelves? "

Agreed they do make really excellent standalone models. But, correct me if I am wrong is not the scale between the regualr 40k and Apoc not the same?

"...Maybe it's because they were playing their favorite game with like-minded people in a once-in-a-year event." They were...Really? Looked more like a bunch of people standing around the table looking at the mess, and maybe rolling a few dice to eliminate totally stationary targets. Becau...

"Apocalypse is mainly about fun." I don't know a game that isn't about fun. Apoc seems to be more about building a parking lot. "Some weapons are very powerful in order to shorten the game as they remove large quantities of models very qickly." You mean like a 12 gauge loaded wit...

I started playing epic because of the realization that 40k Apoc was a giant clusterhump.

That's always how it is. Just about every SG tournament/big game I've ever played in has been (coincidentally) at the rear corner of the annex of the local Bunker. It's almost a pattern.

Out of sight, out of mind...Just what GW is looking for in an SG game. ::)

Votes cast. Once again not easy choices, and once again my own efforts pale in comparison. Good work to all the entrants.

"you're preaching to the choir here." Yeah, I know, but I still had to say something. "...apocalpyse isn't meant to represent a huge battle realistically." Seriously, the table was PACKED to the point of stupidity. "Each has their place." Yep, Epic on the table being pl...

Just saw some pics of the annual Apocalypse Battle at a GW store in Victoria. It looks like they took a bunch of models (albeit very well painted ones) and dumped them on the table (talk about parking lot wargaming >:( ). It looked more like a very disorganized yard sale then a wargame. It is really...
