apart from epic, having done both LOTR and 40k (necromunda etc that size minis) with lots of basing involved I always found it useful to paint grey and wash with chestnut ink...it makes it look earth and muddy but still like they're stones... |

So wait, I have about 50 plastic mole mortars and ive used them in game and only NOW someone tells me they're meant to point the other way...great...ok well anyway i have another WHAT THE HELL IS THAT MINI issue but can't get a picture because it's been primered already and i havent a decent camera ... |

wow they look nice, although im gonna pick up on your detailing mate ;) And interesting - i thought theyd look bad on square bases - i was wrong! Gonna give it a try...
