The idea is that a force this size is sufficient to cause havoc in the outlying parts of the County of Edessa, and when the 3mm scale Undead come out, the real sieges and grand battles will begin in earnest.

Here’s some painting, prototyping a sufficiently Byzantine color palette. Insofar as the byzantines had a color palette at all.

Giving this another shot here. I basically have a pretty substantial army of undead from the Fallen Empire. And the upcoming Microworld “Crusader State” army is going to be quite ideal to face them down.

I have a thing or two but for some damn reason the forum calls my photos “invalid files.” I’ll see if I can correct for that a little later - you’re too kind!

Me too! While the Stahlritter Confederacy is locked in a civil war, the Desert Uprising is going to begin, and what will they do without Beetlebacks to fight with?

Not being in Europe I can’t help Vanguard out on this one but I for one am a huge fan of the 3mm fantasy and 3mm sci fi lines and really want to see both expand. The real thing about them is that they’re economical enough to make getting into them much easier and far less expensive than 6mm. But the...

With the release of the new 3mm fantasy line from Microworld I’m rethinking what I want from my 6mm armies. For the Undead, I always wanted to have a skeleton army for Warhammer Fantasy Battles back when we played 3rd Edition, when my friends and I were young and before we all got to high school and...

A fine objective but from the looks of it, that is not the place to do it. Its got “28” right in the name and everyone there is going on and on without exception about turnips and parsnips and carrots and such.

Thanks, I joined, poked around, and it didn’t make any sense. All the root vegetable stuff was an inside joke I wasn’t able to get my mind around - clearly I don’t find tubers as incredibly funny as they do, so I’m obviously missing something. And being purely 28mm from the looks of it I’m going to ...

I think you need smaller infantry bases. I also recommend pre-setting your infantry on the base. They look a little too spread out on the land on that, I assume, 1” x 1” base? They really need no more than 3/4” x 3/4”, and I use as little as 3/4” x 5/8”.

The Battle of Calth, would it? The three colors I’ve found most successful for Heresy-era Ultramarines are Sapphire Blue, True Blue and Sky Blue, all three from Reaper. They will look brighter than the sort of royal blue you’d expect from 30K Ultramarines but will nicely point up the detail on the V...

I was doing 3mm scale epic before it was cool, brah.

You can’t go wrong with Vanguard’s 6mm line. I’ll say though that I got inspired to try to stat up some units from Epic with general equivalents for Ogre Miniatures, and it actually crosses over pretty well because the range bands tend to be in even ratios relative to movement. Ogre Armageddon seems...

I play Epic with 3mm scale armies and basically zero change in the rules. What 3mm allows is greater density on the tabletop and more economical large armies. Modern 3mm scale producers, with Vanguard spearheading them, have made 3mm more than competitive on quality - there’s really almost no detail...
