I wish I could figure out my camera but that depth of field thing bothers me as well. I will redouble my efforts but I just feel like a moron using this thing.

Woodland Scenics Softflake Snow.

Mixture of around half half PVA and snow flakes with white paint added...fleck that onto the base and then drop the whole base into just snow flakes and leave to set.

Gives you a nice crusty fresh snow finish.
