As for the orginal post: tyranid aircraft,  I also believe they should not have access to fast moving types like fighters and bombers, although I do believe that such a thing as organic jet engine Is possible. I think it basicallly comes down to aesthetics, GW want each race to play and look &n...

What I do with and new fleet or army, is to think about it for some time, weeks in fact. Firstly research, reading up on the races, their backgrouds, rules, fiction other poeples fleets/armies etc, and hoping something will 'reach out and grab me'. Often I have ideas of my own for a themed force. On...

Good idea
One possibility I thought up was indeed a blimp with an AA weapon on top.
Perhaps one small, vehicle sized, the other larger perhaps a WE.

With regard to the terraformin of world by the tyranids check out the following link Tyranoforming of worlds. It could provide further ideas for tyranids invasions. check page 2.... I particularly like the broodhive, however it says that such a thing only occurs in unsupported invasions, I have no i...

I agree with what you say, I was just an idea of 'the top of my head', a thought that larger tyranid synapse creatures would have a larger control radius. Consider, the control radius of a hive ship, hundred if not thousands of metres. Still your points are well made I will consider further thought ...

In my view the army list should arranged slightly differently A new section, the Tyranid Fleet should be introduced It should cover Tyranid vessels, that are in orbit. Including the Hiveship and the cruiser. But how would they use orbital bombardment? barrages? pin-point attacks? One thing they shou...

As a long term term ideas a I would also like to see a seeding swarm list. For now however I think we should concentrate our efforts on the current list we are working. I will gather up whatever ideas I have on the seeding list and wait until the current list is out before posting them. My question ...

I never meant to suggest that tyranids are as fast as a jet aircraft. Indeed I agree with what you are saying, but I still believe that the flyer rules better represent how they fly: strafing runs like an airplane, not pop up attacks like a helicoptor. An analogy think of is the A-10 Warthog aircraf...

Synapse Control & War Engines The synapse control range of War Engines (Dominatrix) I think should be greater, how about a range equal to the Damage Capacity, multiplied by 5cm. The Dominatrix would then have a synapse range of 40cm. Or how about 2 new special rules, having two ranges for synaspe co...

Tyranid Barrage Balloon For airpower nature cannot provide fast moving aircraft. A bird, or a harridan can only fly so fast no matter how hard it flaps its wings. Therefore a tyranid swarm would adopt a defensive strategy to count enemy airpower. One idea that came to me was a tyranid barrage balloo...

Since you liked my previous ideas, here another.... Tyranid Airpower War engines should not be skimmers, I believe they are far to large/heavy to hover in one place. They should be flyers, of the 'bomber' type. The Haridan/Vituperator being living creatures would still carry other units, but could a...

I have come to the same conclusions, however I get so many ideas and thoughts that I get impatient to share them with others.
The ideas above are about half of what I have written down, keep checking up regularly for more posts.

A tyranid invasion I would like to see rules on the climatic changes a tyranid invasion swarm can bring about. How about limited visibility because a huge cloud of spores is blowing over the battlefield. The spores interfering with equipment, breathed in, toxins and viruses affecting soldiers etc. I...

I am new to this forum, but I am not new to epic having first played it in the Space Marine 1st edition era (before the wheel was invented) After 2-3 years out from the hobby I want to return, and most of all I want to play Epic, as it is my favorite GW game. I the past I have used, a mixed Imperial...
