Witha swarm size of 70 or 80 it could fairly safely engage two or even three enemy formations at once. Ad a couple of LSNs to spawn to replace lost numbers and you have a potentialy unstoppable steam roller. It has no one point of weakness with that many synapse, and it will pretty much crush ...

I've been thinking about the stats I suggested. I don't think they need the special rule about destroying themselves, espeically the brood ones. After all if you want to keep an empty husk around that can do nothing but look scary thats fine - its not as if it'll stop the swarm breaking so easily as...

Why not make them an uncommon brood creature rather than a synapse upgrade? Suggested stats, just off the top of my head: Type Move Armour CC FF L/V 15cm 6+ - - Weapons Range attack Special Sp...

Looks good to me, although if and when I'll ever get to playtest it I'm not sure (unless anyone else lives in manchester???). Only one problem leaps out at me, and thats the lesser synapse node being a DC1 warengine. I understand the reasoning, and even argee with it, but, unless something happened ...

Grabber Slasher is an equally sily name... I seem to recall the sergeant shooting he thing then complaining that it was made from dna from OUR galaxy damnit and these bugs had no right to kill OUR orks! Yes they are boarding a hive ship. In a boarding torpedo that is longer than it is wide and has r...

also, regenerating biotitans and the like - its not necesaarily that bits are regrowing that fast, simply that other creatures inside the biotitan will swarm to a damaged point and act kind of like platelets with attitude. There is a reference in the novel Space Marine (yes I know, it's rogue trader...

Nodes grow on planets, that I don't doubt. But a dominatrix is second only to a Norn Queen, is it not? I remain highly unconvinced that they grow on planet. I think it more likely that they grow on the fleet. Perhaps there are far larger mycetic spores that drop things like that. Or perhaps there ar...

You seem to be implying that the forces are actually created as needed by the dominatrix or hive node from the mycetic spore clouds. I don't see it this way. I always assumed that mycetic spores were a little like drop pods - a kind of disposable creature which burns away as it passes through the at...

I am in the process of entirely scratch building a necron army (I have about 60 or 70 warriors so far... they're fairly crude but painted up they look suitably robotic. Obviously their C'Tan was a Dr. Who fan... Hey! Maybe I could use a 28mm Dalek as a C'Tan model!). The problem I'm having now is fi...

I could almost see arguments fo orks, chaos and necrons siding against the nids, if not actually *with* the allies. Orks: "bugz iz bad and hs too many leggs. An' anyway, 'av yoo seen da size of dem biotitan's teef?" (n.b. this came up in an epic game once...). If, as I once theorised while drunk, Ga...
