I’m keen for Epic-scale gaming to become popular enough that I can play it at friendly local gaming stores or with big40K friends! Though it is kinda neat to think it’ll be back in GW stores, and I think it appeals to me more than playing 40K there these days. GW stores around here are actually dece...

Aha! He comes back to the old forums conveniently just as a new Epic edition appears… coincidence? I think not! I’m also curious about what Epic players think of Legiones Imperialis. I have seen that some of the infantry sprue design was a bit too ambitious and has significant undercut issues, but i...

[(snip)] I think many of those small changes could easily be absorbed into EA without causing major upset (e.g. versus switching dice). I agree there's a lot of small changes that could have happened. ERC will not change them and without a clearly respected authority to champion that, it's missed t...

Just wanted to point out that's what Steel Crown did with the Exodus Wars ruleset and everyone went "meh". The goal was a clean room reimplementation of EA and update. O yes! I am always glad to be reminded of Exodus Wars! I think we ought to have another discussion about that on here—I’d...

Yes, but I was more thinking of "rewriting" the rules so that the faq/clarifications was incorporated into the rules. Even if the faq/clarification for one paragraph is written on the same page, I'd prefer if it was actually in the rules text. I understand that there are many different op...

Kinda wish someone would do a 'kitchen sink' list for the Guard like I did for the Marines. Kinda everything reasonable possible for use with a sensible organization for friendly play. It seems such a thing wouldn’t be too hard to achieve :9 It seems like such a list would be really handy for every...

There have been quite a few ideas over the years about making EA war engines function more interestingly! The easiest thing to represent the hit locations would be to change the way critical hits work, I think—you could make criticals happen on a 5+ and modify the table to have weapon damage options...

Um ninja gobblers interesting idea, gobblers special operations death squad ha. Sneaky and cunning—their smaller frame and less-violent tendencies make them ideal for infiltration! Nobody quite knows how the Gobbler Ninja Corps began, but it is certain that it functions more like a monastic order, ...

Yay, new Gobbos! After being reminded of their arrival by @malika in the Book of Faces, I was thinking back to various GW versions and it struck me that SciFi ninja Gobbos would be cool (with Orky weapons, I was thinking). Perhaps also with some kind of grotzooka/missile launcher (and maybe a specia...

So, Apocalypse has been out for a little while now: has anyone here played it yet? From the discussion on Dakka Dakka, it seems people find the rules superior to ordinary WH40K (perhaps little surprise to fans of Epic), though there seems to be a gap for games below about 1000 40K-points but above 2...

| Travel Space Hulk seems an ideal way to get started with Minihammer—simple terrain and a good game! You can even use the Kill Team (2018) Arena rules with the same terrain for something different! | I’ll have to find out some more about the new Apocalypse rules; I got the gist of it from the early promos, but not much more! I think Heresy superheavies => vehicles/walkers => Tactical Marine infantry (and maybe Terminators) is the most sensible option they have if they wanted to expand AT like th... |
