Quote (RedDevil @ 19 Dec. 2005 (20:57))Just to clarify, I think that the "Act as skimmer" rule was only supposed to work when the Tau were on the receiveing end of an assault, not when they initiated it. ?This is how I read it, and I would only support it if this were the case. Was this correct? Sur...

I know I'm limiting myself, but so far I am only considering units that I can buy a unit for. Epic is a secondary game to me (and Tau secondary to my IG horde), so I haven't spent any time converting. I also think the Orca is too expensive, so base my force around not using one. This probably limits...

I have a fairly large (unpainted) Tau force, and don't want to spend any more money on it as yet. One thing I don't have is Drones. Has anyone come up with a good way of modelling them up, maybe bits of rod chopped up etc?

The Dev example isn't valid here, they would be using the AP value regardless of if the Crisis are Inf or LV. The situations that LV make them more vulnerable to is firefights against AP-light units.

(I'd still like to see them AV though) :)

I kind of agree with the Hammers.  I'd prefer to have maybe 2 profiles, an AT-heavy and an AP heavy varient. It would also be possible to divide the varients into the 2  "counts as" for the Ion and Rail official types. The other thing that would be interesting would be the Burst Cannon var...

Quote (Steele @ 09 2005 Aug.,12:01)Hi, with your proposed changes regarding armor saves, you would bring in that much detail as in the first Titan Legion( Adeptus Titanicus) Game. I don?t know if you ever played it, but the early rules for Infantry and Tanks where nearly as detailed as in 40k. I don...

Just to interject again. Crisis in 40K are significantly more resilient than the equivalent number of wounds of Space Marines (incl. Drones). I often use 8+ suits in a 1500 point game and never take Inv saves, however I don?t believe in 2 years of gaming there have been more than a handful of occasi...

Although it sounds a little strange, has anyone considered the implications of making Crisis and Broadsides AV Walkers rather than LV? It would cut the amount of weapons that could target them down, while if Infantry wanted to target them they would still have the Assault/firefight option. Would thi...

In 40K, Crisis suits in fairly dense terrain are at their best, while in totally open terrain are doomed. While we don't want to exactly duplicate their rules in Epic, I would be against any rules that made them play in the opposite manner. They should at least be able to gain protection from buildi...

Breotan, netewpic is correct. I was after a list and rules for the previous game system, Epic 40K. I liked the system, although the balance wasn't great.

Hi there. Is anyone writing rules for Tau in the Epic 40K rules, or do you know where they might be some already?

Thanks JG.

I was considering a unit of FW with Devilfish, Crisis, Shas'El and Hammerheads as a close assault unit. Comes to 600 points, worth it do you think? or would I be better off leaving the Hammers out and concentrating on doing one thing?

Hi all, glad I found you.
Just a quick question regarding Shas?O/ Shas?El upgrades. Can you add them to a Crisis suit upgrade for a Fire Warrior Cadre, or do they have to be added to a Battlesuit Cadre? I would assume the former but not 100% clear. Thanks
