Don't worry, don't worry. I'm mulling over the Distant Darkness and MMS Eldar projects too! For a look at the old rules: http://www.savefile.com/files/2164249 Anyhow, the main point I'm looking at...dealing with with the Demiurg is the ludicrous amount of special rules I seem to have obtained. Knowi...

A sensible note here is that 2*AP5+ is also pretty decent vs your general Light Vehicles, just as is the case with Dark Reapers in 40k.  :)

I wonder, is it really sensible to class the LR as 'MBT'? Whilst making it a SHT is a bit daft, it is a 'supertank' in that it oughta be damn good. Positing it to be the Marine MBT seems silly, IMO. Rather, a points drop could be supported if it were noted that, unlike the LR, the Pred is more like ...

Indeed, it's not addressed that items like RSVs/Escorts have or have not drop pod cabability, but I see no overarching reason they wouldn't. A 'small' carrying capacity (i.e. one lander's worth) makes sense to me. The specifics aren't terribly important right now, playtesting/thinking about things o...

The 'contacts' thing wouldn't just represent 'not full use when on their own', but the effect that being out of coordination with other ships would be. In the midst of a battle it strikes me that communications are a high priority thing (much more so than a lone pursuit of a handful of pirates, as y...

Personally, like on the Epic: Dark Eldar list, I'm a proponent of the use of 'escorts' class starships. An obvious way to implement this in the SW list is to allow them as part of a single 'expandable' Space formation. (I.e. 0-1 SC [up to BB] 0-3 Escorts [Strike{extra bombardment}, Lance{pinpoint at...

An idea, then, might be calling activations "Blips" or "Contact". Bonuses depending upon what you're trying to do (AAF, for instance, would be quite easy to 'activate' on, but perhaps not to actually achieve the full lock-on). A failed Contact would mean that your ship (or squadron) is out of contac...

Quote: (alansa @ 23 Apr. 2009, 11:45 ) I'm not convinced personally that a standard generic scenario ala Epic A is the best approach for BFG. It works brilliantly for EA yes but I dunno about BFG. Rather a set of standard scenarios, each with a number of goals for the opponents to try and achie...

This may be an...odd question. Would it be possible to...bolt-on the extra rules of BFG onto and somewhat modify the E:A frameset? Would there be any merit in Epic: Gothic War? Anyway, the dynamics of the Epic GT scenario likely could do with a tweak to be more ameanable to the BFG game. 'Holding' a...

Hey folks, This is basically a quick reply for the sake of distracting me from my project report and an essay due on Friday: - Firstly, an imperative aspect of BFG2 would be the inclusion of a standard mission. BH is correct, I raised this a while back, but didn't get terribly far. - Secondly, it ha...

Dobbsy, Empirical playtesting will not demonstrate some of the things we are discussing. The idea that balance may simply be unachievable in present form is unlikely to arise as a direct result of playtesting. It is, however, quite likely to be raised through speculation (relative to the likely impo...

There's only a couple of points I'd make (as Moscovian has elucidated a few thoughts quite nicely): - I'm not pushing for playtesting or list-analysis by myself, but discussion and thoughts on what direction such a thing would take. What could be left out of one list and put in another? - As Moscovi...

I'm hardly asking you to follow or change the list, I'm asking you to consider an alternative...or did I make a mistake in there somewhere? (And if the alternative is worthwhile it'd be the next logical step to ask for followers and change, but if it's a terrible idea it'll get thrown out with the r...

However long it is, I'd lap it up!

The ball-point sketches are immense, and exceptionally pleasant to look at. Myself being quite dangerous when attempting...'art'...it's always nice to see other people realise ideas that would otherwise float around, all alone in my head!

Very nice stuff!
