I'll second the point about Warseer... some good painters on there but best to stay away from the rest of it I think. The 40K thread on Something Awful is pretty good. I don't actually play 40k myself (nobody around here to game with at all , plus not enough money to get into it properly right now) ...

Insanely brilliant! Thanks! GUO is done, at least until I suddenly decide it isn't (or get new paints): GUO front.jpg Getting errors when I try to upload the rest (probably our internet being stupid again), I was able to put them on my blog if you want to see . Think I'll draw up some ideas for the...

Quick paint update on the GUO. Still got the eyes and the base to do, but they can wait until I've at least attempted sleep:

GUO is pretty much done, probably tweak a bit here or there before I start painting but I'm happy with it as is.

Thanks again everyone! Glad you liked them. Just waiting on parts of the GUO to set so I can finish the last bits, I think I'll have him done sometime tonight or tomorrow. In the meantime, there are plots in the making: silver tower.JPG (By which I mean I need to remember how to 3D model things so I...

I wouldn't say a design being a front/back/etc. heavy is a always problem myself; at least not visually. I can think of a few robot designs that are well liked around here that are very top-heavy, and wouldn't be nearly as distinctive or memorable if they weren't.
