Just collected 3 proper copies of Epic Raiders and have to congratulate all concerned for an excellent production. Worth every penny. To my mind such a fan based supplement is about the only support Epic is likely to receive so hopefully there will be more of them.

Thanks as well Col! Certainly look like they could be used in the Nid army. Great find.

Hi Legion 4 - can you post any pics of the 10mm Alien Pendraken figures you use as Raveners. I was thinking of using my 40K rippers as a basis for my Malinthropes but need inspiration for Raveners.  Any photos would be appreciated.

What is a Catalyst? (in reference to the Tyranid list)

I assumed it was a spore (spawning enhancer).

QUOTEI think the two options seen in this thread are good compromises. - If a brood is broken, it auto-rallies. If a brood is unbroken it spawns. - If a brood is broken, it auto-rallies and spawns. If a brood is unbroken it spawns better. Having spoken to my gaming group (and specificaly with our N...

QUOTE"Hold" is always the only option when you fail an activation test, but any formation can, though there's rarely a reason to, choose a "Hold" as a normal action Agreed but I`ve never seen any formation (ever) choose voluntarily to take a Hold action. It is always the default of failing to take ...

While I feel it is a step in the right direction, are we still not in the situation where I attempt a Hold action with an Instinctive unit, fail the test and take a Hold action anyway?
I prefer Markconzs take on this particular part of the rules.

Looking for comments from Necron players (or Necron opponents). ?I have been thinking about trying to put together a Necron force for some time now but am concerned about the diverse opinions on the current list and how the army plays. If I am reading the threads correctly it seems a Monolith heavy ...

Have to agee with making the Hive tyrant 4+ RA - they were certainly too vulnerable before. Our group had thought of moving the artillery to independant - Dactylis, Exocrine and (possibly) Biovores. The Hive Mind would be unlikely to need synapse creatures to pass on complex instructions. They would...

Despite still being a lot of reading, I appreciate trying to include the concepts described by Jervis will mean a lot of explanation. ? I actually think the rules you have produced here are about as clear as they can be made and are a good step forward. I think keeping the "fluff" up front and disti...

I`ve played a few games with Saim Hann now and I like the list pretty much as is. I think the SR of 3, the lack of guardians all make more for a characterful list. IMO we just need to firm up on the cost of the wild rider clans and upgrades (need full points not a discount) and the list will about a...

Hi Hena, QUOTEOk, so the problem is in understanding those two. Good. Let's notice that they were created to the 8.X series of the list, so no wonder if they need more check up. Out of curiosity, what lists has he played? I don`t know how many incarnations, but quite a few. He has had the army since...

QUOTEWell I certainly think that it is needed. It allows the Tyranids to react a lot differently to enemy than fixed swarms. Tyranids are already lacking in strategies available and removing their own tricks is only going to make the army more and more blander. And a lot more boring to play with. A...

QUOTETyranids should be very random. They have machine-like mind set, but they are not machines. Biological world is not very predictable and I certainly don't want to see Tyranids as predictable enemy. Making things fixed will mean that you can prepare for it (as enemy) and thus counter the effect...

QUOTEI don't like the "fixed swarms" as it removes a tactical aspect from Tyranids. Handing off broods. While not all players use this, it still doesn't make sense to remove it. ?It does if it means we are removing a level of detail/complication that we don`t need. QUOTEWhat exactly is complicated ...
