Nice one E&C the Reb drone concept art that I've seen looks awesome and the scenery sprues look like they are going to be brilliant for other game systems as well |

That's very true. I've just never really had much luck with them and they are awfully expensive for a 3k game where the points can be used to up your activations and to boost formations into the "this could be a real threat" category. Either way the game has a very different character when... |

Looks like a difficult list to play. I often find that the Banelord is not worth the points cost as it is not really fast enough to get into assaults effectively. I'd drop the Banelord and take: 2xChosen with 4 rhinos - 290 not just to boost your activations but also for a scout screen, 2xHavocs (+ ... |

Yeah, having looked at the list again it would need to be 2 x rhino in at the back but I've been giving it some thought and am going to try a bit of an experiment in my next game: Instead of putting a Black Legion retinue in them, I'm going to go for 4 terminators. I know it lowers their break point... |

Yeah man, against combined unit types preds and land raiders are the shiz but if you really want to piss off your opponant (troll face) then stick a cult of thousand sons in there with 2 more land raiders to get the RA on infantry so that you get a save against macro barage weapons. Yeah it boosts t... |

Actually I find that in a Black Legion army, a retinue transported by 4 land raiders is an extremely effective armoured unit. In fact I almost never field an army without one. It is a superb tank hunter and has the speed to grab objectives when needed. The fact that it has 12 units in it combined wi... |

Was all that copy from the pamphlet you handed out to MNB? I think you may have me confused with someone else. I'm fairly new to these boards and I don't know what MNB is? I just was bored this afternoon and decided to write up my experiences with the 'crons and what I've learned while playing them. |

I have found that there are some general rules to keep in mind when playing Crons: Firstly don't forget that a phalanx coming out of a monolith has an effective assault range of 60cm as the monolith can double before spewing them out and if you don't teleport your flayed ones in then they can assaul... |

Makes sense. So always have 2 daemon pools then, greater and lesser. |

Maybe I'm being thick but just to clarify the use of daemons with black legion: If I buy a greater daemon for my army, does my summoning pool automatically get the +8 summoning points added to my daemon pool needed to bring it out during the game? (obviously I would have to roll to get them on the a... |

Hey Neal, thanks for the food for thought there. I'll give a much more specialised force a shot next time. It does seem like a shame to lose the obliterators in an assault (2+ ff and RA is not to be sniffed at) but I'll definately be looking more carefully at where I need them and try to pare them a... |

It is indeed. To be fair, the fact that the nurgle unit was fully stocked was instrumental in it surviving 2 full blasts from the manticores and leman russ (admittedly breaking on the second time round). So buying the full unit did seem worth it. Chaos are weird as they are not space marines and don... |

Cheers on the advice. I've not looked into using spaceships but it might be something to look at as camping artillery on the blitzkreig is a fairly common tactic for his guard. Sad to say my banelord and half my army were desperately trying to hold the other side of the field against another unit of... |
