Bought my ticket too, I'm looking forward to playing some Epic again! Should be a small group of us Bristol area players driving up for this.

You're getting mixed up - third edition is a pretty unpopular version of epic. It was different to other versions, very abstracted and sold poorly. 4th edition or 'Epic Armageddon' is what the considerable majority of people play (and there's still a healthy Epic Armageddon tournament scene in the U...

sorry then that's just elysians but another name. would be rather nice if they had a distinct theme (say Glider assault vs paratroopers) I see them as basically renamed Elysians personally. I have no inside knowledge but I'm guessing the designers wanted to take the list in a different direction to...

I feel Vannaheim could do with a bit of tweaking too. Overall the list seems slightly underpowered and the lists people use at tournaments are quite cooky-cutter and more samey than most other armies. My proposed suggestions are partly similar but a bit more conservative: Two Sentinels can be transp...

The Epic-UK Vannaheim Guard Mortars are 30cm 1BP IF (based on 3 mortars on a stand) if it helps. That seems ok to me for the combined fire of 3 though could do it either way.

I have mixed feelings about transparent bases myself; they can look good, though I prefer modelled regular bases myself. I vary the basing a fair bit between my various armies and do different themes (jungle, urban, techy, etc) but I stick to steel legion drab as the soil colour for all so there's s...

LOL is that crane a lifta-droppa? regardless, that's just awesome!

Nah it's a Ferals Squiggoth in game. The orks are getting it to go in the direction of their choosing using a looted crane on it's back dangling a tasty smaller Squiggoth tantalisingly just out of reach infront of it.

I do prefer the old version but will live with the new. If we're lucky maybe someone will 3d design a new tail fin like the old one, I think that's my biggest dislike of the new one. The red canopies look a bit like insect eyes and makes it look slightly comical but I think that's just down to poor ...

It's probably a good bet that Forgeworld will come out with Vampire Raiders and Hunters for AI in the next couple of months, but maybe we'll get a plastic one instead. Even odds either way, based on past release patterns for that game. It could go either way with that I think. There are already a f...

I use laser cut acrylic or ply 1.5mm high bases myself in maybe 20 off different shapes and sizes between my various armies. e.g. I like oval bases for Eldar, Tau and Tyranids as it fits their character more in my opinion. I like to keep the height the same 1.5mm the old epic bases were as I dislike...

Yeah me too. Still we have 5 months and hopefully it'll be feasible to paint up 600 points a month on average. Consider it a challenge? I'm gradually building my first load. Alternatively a few people with large ork collections might be up for loaning some to others to play that don't have orks. 181...

He's not selling STLs though is he? Just prints of his own designs. I'd still be equally fine buying them without really caring. As a subsequent retailer is there anything different for you for selling his metal models or 3d printed ones of the same? I would think shipping might be a tiny bit cheape...

For a weapon specifically dedicated to killing aircraft (at least that's what the majority of us will be using it to proxy in games) the gun seems to have a limited fire arc above itself and would only be able to attack aircraft below a certain angle. Is it possible to adjust the side bits holding t...
