Woot! For the first time in many years I've painted a load of Epic models this year and so can enter.

Yes people take them apart. I haven't wanted to do it myself yet so I'm not sure precisely how it's done but I'd guess prying apart certain areas.

I'm quite looking forward to doing an army of them too. I think I'm going to wait till the last few missing units get added to complete the range (maybe just the last few superheavies now left to go?) and then I'll buy and paint a large army up all at once.

Kev! It's been many years, nice to see you back in the game! The tournaments are still going if you fancy coming along again sometime.

I don't know if here is quite the best place to report it but I've not been able to upload image files to posts recently. It will give an error message saying something about the image file being invalid. I've played around with it but had no luck. I notice Elsmore commenting on this thread he's hav...

Yeah we know a plastic AI Thunderhawk is coming. Out of the blue in 2017 Forge World released new updated slightly different looking 40k versions of the Barracuda, Tigershark and the Lightning. It was a bit surprising at the time but makes sense subsequently as they made 3d model versions of them to...

The plastic AI models are around one third bigger compared to Epic infantry and vehicles than you would expect from 40k - https://photos.app.goo.gl/qLqKr12dDvoX2PRe7 I think they still look fine together though and I'm going to paint up an Elysian Drop Troops army using the new AI Valkyries, Vulture...

The venue is down to around a quarter of their normal numbers due to extra social distancing but it's a largish venue and this is still enough tables for a small tournament. I expect people will have checked and okayed it before arranging it.

My Greater Knarloc says 'SQWARK!' - (link will have to do as I can't get this image to upload to the forum for some reason) https://photos.app.goo.gl/qA2b23SVWhyx93Li8

He's converted from a limited release Kroot Bird. I've also seen Knarlocs on Shapeways, though pricey as is the norm there.

Could be a good idea to update the dates in the thread title and on the Epic-UK site? Both still say March currently. Stick a post up on the Epic-UK facebook page advertising the tournament too? I just plugged it on one of the Epic facebook groups and a couple of people said they might be interested.

I'm looking forward to the first tournament in ages :)

I wonder how many of us will have all new armies painted up with time off during the lockdown?

What this about a new army builder? http://traitor-legion.appspot.com/ is the one I've always used and it works well. Could some person or group not just take over updating it if Adam has moved on?

You realise paint can be stripped by dipping the model in one of various chemicals yeah? I think the process can sometimes melt glue too so you can then start from scratch.

I have no clue what one is worth these days.

Not that I'm aware of. You could also use a Daemon Primarch model as a good blitz objective marker (the one you have on your table edge) in the game, assuming it to be directing the battle.
