The knights got just decimated. Corner deployment and the bomber threat meant tight/spread deployment... standard 12 terrain pieces and line of sight issues meant the knights were just corralled into defensive positions or face the wrath of assaulting eldar. The FwA on the battlecannons and castelan weapons made overwatch just a slight nusance but still avoidable. It was over 1/2 into turn two. My opponent and I looked at the what i shoukd have done differently and there really wasnt much i could have done and kthing that really would have changed the outcome. I could have done some super agressive stuff buf the probability for getting out right destroyed was very high. CAPs were completely ineffective due to the 3 scources of cheap very fast moving effective flak on the board.

Eldar BT need some toning down. The Avatar didn't even need to show up. It was a 5-0 overwhelming victory and really nothing I could do about it. My opponent wasn't even rolling for criticals which would have made it so much worse.

The crazy mobility combined with all the special rules combined with the cheap cost of stuff like rangers, night spinners, and guardian formations. A free avatar just to add that little extra kick to the teeth...

Looking forward to what the UK crew come up with change wise. May just adopt that as the standard in our meta also.

Ouch. That was not an easy match up. If I was playing my Vanaheim I think that I would have had the same result facing that Eldat build. I assume that one of the problems was the small formation size and the disrupt barrage.

I think any list with three powerful ground based AA units, and three powerful ground attack aircraft formations would have walked all over the Knights. There was basically 1000pts of unchallenged Eldar airpower at play, I suspect intercepting with the TBolts would have meant flying through flak too! I'd put that to an unlucky matchup, it happens! Presumably neither of you knew what the other was taking in their army beforehand?

It's unfortunate you didn't have and AA guns as their 60cm range gives good coverage for placing a BM on the approach and the disengage if you save firing one gun for later, 325pts Int4+ aircraft would become a burden for the Eldar rather than an asset! Shining Spear Autarchs are quite vulnerable, with a tiny bit more Imperial flak available targeting it with howitzers and Thunderbolts would split the Eldar AA and make those activation rolls that much harder.

It could have gone worse, another army might have invested in a spacecraft with pinpoints, great against Knights, useless against that Eldar list!
