Hello everyone.

I thought I'd finally start one of these logs that I find myself reading from time to time. My own story seems to echo many other gamers in that we all seem to have the mountain of unpainted miniatures locked away somewhere. In my case they're all hidden away in the parents house, mostly in the attic. If truth be told I've been out of gaming/collecting/the scene for a long time. My last game would have been about 2001/2002. Also I'd say the last time I'd say I'd held a brush to a model. The interest has never really left me but the opportunity to rekindle or get involved in the hobby again has never really been there. Really it's taken second/third/fourth or tenth place to anything else in real life. But still the idea of 'one day I'll get round to it' never really leaves me. :)

The Horus Heresy books from black library have a lot to do with dragging me back into the hobby. I always seem to gravitate towards the stories. If we the same with all the rule books that were released, loved the little passages that they tends to have every few pages. It really adds to the whole experience and is vital to turning that little lump of plastic/metal/resin into something more.

I've been into the epic system since the SpaceMarine 2ed release and despite having many, many epic models I've managed to never actually assemble and paint an army! I think I might have maybe four painted models. I'd like to change that and eventually get an army together that's painted by me. And who knows maybe even get a game in at some stage. (One mountain and a time though right?)

So I don't expect to be updating this thread to often but I would like to keep it ticking over. That's the goal. Hardly a lofty one but the first steps are the hardest right?

Anyway I'll leave you with a couple of painted minis I found while digging through the mountain!

Thanks guys. It does occur to me that in the 10 years I've been part of this forum I think these are the first images I've posted of my own painted miniatures!!

Got to love them. Always drawn to them. Sure the GW push on them many years ago had no effect on my young self at all! ::)

I think it'll be a while before I get back to the Space Wolves, I've had Eldar on my mind for a while now. I've a bunch of plastics from various box sets and trades over the years. I've a little bit of the current range of armour but not too much. But that all changed after receiving a package from Heavy Messing yesterday.

The below picture is what armour I had to hand added to what was in the package. Not too much missing. Just a few of the heavier hitters that I don't have to hand. (2 more Revenants, Cobra, 2 Phantom Titans and Two Warlock Titans)

Seeing it all out makes me feel like there's a lot to do!!

It really wasn't! Very reasonably priced which is the only reason I went for it. If it was anything close to what I see some of even the individual parts going for there's no way I would have jumped on it. I'm very much an old man before my time when it comes to the pricing of minis. I find it hard to get by what the used to cost. (And what I used to be able to get them for!!)

Thought maybe I should update this! ::)

So back in 2012 I wrote out an army list for the TOEG12. Totally failed at doing much about it. But tonight I felt compelled to dig through the collection and see what I had and what I was missing. And take a shot of it all together, unpainted of course!

Here's the list below. I've already changed the Dark Reapers to a mix of Dire Avengers and Fire Dragons Aspects, couldn't find the models for the photo so just used a stand in of Banshees and Scorpions for the sake of line out.

This may actually be a terrible army so looking for some advice there. Love a themed force though.
