I like Veteran Princeps (Principii?); The extra blast marker removed or void shield regenerated on regrouping is very helpful.

Don't put Quake cannon and Apoc launchers on the same titan - if you fire them together they lose MW, and if you want MW then you lose the Apc launchers firepower. I'd swap the QC for a Volcano cannon on the second Warlord, you seem a bit shy on long-range TK shooting.

I like the "Reaver Assault" theme with the three pods :) How does it work on the table?

I don't think you get the single weapon surcharge on the Warhound pack - it's only if all the weapons in the formation are the same. As for loadouts, I find my favorite Warhound weapon is the TLD, it is an excellent tank-killer; The Warhound is a fragile beast, and being able to stay at 60cms distance helps immensely. I almost think a 2x TLD warhound would be worth its price (8x AT3+, Mmmm), but I still usually field them as singleton TLD+something else to keep the cost down.

As for additions up to 10K - if you think you have enough Titans, how about 6 Forge Knights for variety's sake, and a pair of Marauders for harrying enemies out of LOS? The AMTL Marauders are quite good.

ah so the surcharge is for the FORMATION! okay ill juggle the hounds to avoid it ;p

swapping out the warlords quake canon should be okay - simple conversion it will be easy to change out. i see what you mean about the two weapons not really complementing eachother.

i prefer not to take tld on warhounds as it seems a bit of a no brainer, theyre only really there for a last turn march, or to escort the cc reavers in close. besides, the tld reaver fulfills most of my AT and sheild stripping purposes and the warhound weapons are based on my 40k warhound and fluff. :D speaking of which, a veteran on the twin ccw reaver is a good idea, i should have figured that myself :S

i do have a pair of fw marauder destroyers so ill paint them up in legion colours and add them to the list. as for the forge knights i did consider them but at the time they were a touch difficult to get hold of, and i dont really want to use proxies. are the forge knights any good? what role are they best at?

With the Warhound pack- is that both warhounds each having 1 Plasma Blastgun & 1 Vulcan Megabolter? Or one warhound with 2 Plasma Blastgun and the other with 2 Vulcan Megabolter? I am guessing the former.

My favourite Warhound load-outs were either 1 Plasma Blastgun and 1 TLD, paired Plasma Blastgun or paired TLD. This was on an older version of army list, before increase in points for paired weapons and for TLD.

I seemed to need decent AT fire on my warhounds, but that may have been down to the opponents I was facing.

I guess each having 1 Plasma Blastgun & 1 Vulcan Megabolter is fairly flexible and can be used to attack enemy infantry leaving your Raevers and Warlord to focus on bigger stuff.

Either way that is an impressive number of Titans and would be great to see a group shot.

Cheers

James

The surcharge for all weapons being the same applies to the formation, so you can have two Titans each with a different pair of the same weapon and not pay it.

I know- but I was still trying to work out which way the pack's weapons were split.

To be honest, while I have Forge Knights I have yet to field them in battle myself. I mostly suggested them for visual appeal - they look good in the size gap between Sentinels and Warhounds.

But, in armchair general mode: At 6 strong, they seem like a durable assault formation - with CC MW and Infiltrator, I think it would complement your Reaver Assault teams well - march the Reaver, disembark Skitarii in support fire range, engage 40cm with Forge Knights. Should work :)

The plastic "Imperial Knights" (which I use) are frequently available on eBay. Does that count as proxying? I don't think there is such a thing as an "official" Forge Knight.

the warhounds are as follows:
-twin plasma blastgun
-twin megabolter
-plasma blastgun + megabolter
-plasma blastgun + tld
so ill put the twin plasma with the plasma and tld hound while the twin bolter goes with the plasma and bolter hound so ive got two formations optimised for at and ap targets, or should i mix them for balance?

some knights would be cool, ill have a look on ebay and see what i can find.

ill dig out my camera and get a group shot of them, although two of the reavers have yet to be painted beyond an undercoat.

I'd specialize them, one pack maximizing MW shooting and the other pack maximizing AP shooting. I think formations work better if they have clearly defined roles...

Looking forward to seeing pics, too!

I have always liked specialisation with Warhounds. I agree PBG and TLD would work well together.

I currently have 4 warhounds- 2 with a PBG and VMB apiece that I run as a pack. Then I have 2 anti-infantry warhound with pair VMB, and an anti-armour warhound with twin PBG.

The latter is my favourite- run in, alpha-strike, run away and hide whilst recharging. It epitomises what Warhounds should be in an AMTL force for me.

Cheers

James

i have taken a picture, unfortunately the usb ports arent co-operating and i will have to download it onto another computer and then email it to myself! so it could be a while :(

**edit** i got it working but the file is too big, will do some photographic witchcraft and try again as soon as i can. i want to see what you guys think of my twin ccw reaver - i modelled it with sword and sheild ;) the sheild counts as a power ram in freindly games :D
