Hi!
Granted the original plastic minis weren't great, but its the fun with the game that mattered. The minis of the second edition set were better but I didnt like the rules changes much.

Hmm. I've been trying to remember my favorite Epic scraps, and realised that last year's Warhammer Player Society Club Challenge games were ace. 5 games over 2 days. Drinking and pizza with my old club mates who'd come down to play in the middle.
Game 1. Playing another chap who's not played much either yet. With almost exactly the same IG army. We take our time, and i just about edge it by being more slightly evil tactically.
Game 2. Che Webster of the GW Club Network. His orks bounce off me almost all along the line, including his Uge Stompa Mob bouncing off my mechanised infantry.
Game 3. Speed Freeks. I've got the feel of the rules now. We deploy, then both spend a good 10 minutes staring at the field, contemplating how to force each other's hands in the opening moves. Then I turn to him and say "this just hurts, doesn't it?" We had to call time at turn 3, with just 25 victory points (in a 3000 game) between us. If it had gone another turn, he would very likely have swept me away in a tide of light vehicles.
Game 4. All-AFV IG army + Warlord. The (undamaged) Warlord engaged and lost to my mechanised infy, it went downhill for him from there...
Game 5. Tau. I got expertly, methodically and thoroughly taken to very small pieces by the winner of the tournament, but (unusually, cos i tend to really hate getting mauled) had a really enjoyable game.
Must. Finish. Iron. Warriors. And. Play. This. Year.

I had a rather good game of Necromunda that I won't forget anytime soon. It was a 4 player game... Spyrers, Eschers, Cawdor and my Van Saar. Spyrers got the scenario choice, and (poorly) chose the one where they defended their base. I guess it was kinda overbalanced toward the attackers in that scenario... we had 25 models to his 4. Of course, we were shooting at each other too. Anyway, my heavy with an autocannon on overwatch blew his Yeld into tiny pieces as it was about to charge him. I had two Pit Slaves and an Underhim Scummer with me, and they accounted for the Cawdor leader (he strangely brought him out into the open by himself ) and the Orrus Spyrer (Scummer with a Plasma Pistol rolled a six to hurt and a six to OA him!). The Cawdor gang bottled not long afterward due to long range fire from my guys, and the Eschers took care of the other two Spyrers. In the end, the Spyrer player rolled 'dead' results for 3 of his 4 Spyrers, giving my guys a massive amount of credits to boot! Woot!
my 2cents,
